The location is amazing! In front of the beach (Barra beach). A wild wonderful place. The room is very confortable and clean. The staff is very very kind and helped us for all our needs.

We loved our entire stay there. From the staff, to the location, to the facilities to the food. It was just paradise. If you going to Mozambique, you must stay here. The owners made us feel like family, we are truly overwhelmed and grateful for our time spent there.

My parter and I had a wonderful one night stay at Eclectic Beach Retreat over New Year's Eve. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, and the facilities were stunning. Rooms are very modern, have both an outdoor and an indoor shower, small plunge pool and great views of the expansive beach out front. Beach is nice and quiet as you are a little way from the centre of town, but still close enough to walk to Green Turtle Restaurant, one of the best seafood dining experiences in this part of Mozambique. We had good views of the NYE fireworks in town. Dinner was delicious, and we greatly appreciated that the chef not only fed us well, but also entertained the small group of guests with an excellent Elvis impersonation set to see in the new year! We were served breakfast on our private balcony on New Year's Day which was a great way to start 2023. We would definitely return again!

The Eclectic Beach Retreat is beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, with wonderful staff. We were a family of four (parents and two teenagers) on our summer hols, looking forward to being pampered while enjoying some R&R. We were not disappointed. We stayed in "Villa 23" - a two-bedroomed house just behind the hotel with its own little pool and decking. It is very spacious accommodation with the most comfortable beds imaginable and well equipped if you are self-catering. The main area is a kitchen / diner with large dining table and a lounge area with coffee table and three-piece suite. Each bedroom has an en-suite toilet and outside shower. There is also a utility room and store room. The hotel itself has a smart reception / bar / restaurant area with a wonderful view over the beach, and decking outside with an infinity pool with sun-loungers. The chef-cum-manager Antonio is an amazing character and as well as preparing delicious food (while singing at the top of his voice) could not have been more welcoming and helpful. All the staff without exception were friendly and attentive and looked after us very well. They made our holiday relaxing and fun. Breakfast was a huge two-course affair (making lunch superfluous), eaten in the restaurant by the beach. Although there are another restaurant and a beach bar only a few hundred yards along the beach, we often chose to eat dinner in the hotel too because of the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere. All in all an exceptional beach lodge which deserves its local reputation as the best hotel in the area. I cannot recommend it too highly.

“A feeling of being at home while being in an incredible place”

Although the hotel itself was above expectations, what is particularly worth mentioning and will stay in my memory was the kindness of the staff and owners. From the very first moment of the stay, it felt like i had known the owners and staff from a long time back. This way it was a real pleasure making use of the beautiful facilities or simply hanging around the reception/pool while having a word with them. Thank you very much once more !

“Resort in Paradise”

This Resort ranked in the top 3 of our favorite places on Earth. The location is excellent, in paradise, and from our point of view, it is on the best beach in the area. The combination of the architecture perfectly framed in nature and the refinement of the decoration, together with the friendliness of the staff, were the perfect ingredients for a superb stay. The morning walks on the extensive beach to go diving with the Aquaholics diving school, dating in our private pool, the magnificent meals prepared by Chef António, the smiles and pampering of the staff left us already missing it and with the certainty that we will be back soon.
