Overview
Situated in a peaceful location, across the road from the iconic dog-friendly Tallow Beach. Motel offers self-contained rooms and most have small sunroom with seating. We also offer a securely fenced dog-friendly room for you and your furry friend. Please view our dog friendly room for more details. Most rooms at Motel Tallow Beach feature a queen-size bed, ceiling fans, TV, bar fridge and microwave. Some studio rooms also have a kitchenette and air-conditioning. The small basic budget rooms have their own courtyard and ceiling fan only. New wifi (Starlink) recently installed fast and reliable reception in all rooms. Palm trees and sun loungers surround the outdoor magnesium pool. Guests can also relax in a quiet corner of the lush gardens. Tallow Beach Motel is 5 minutes' walk from the local pub, cafe and shops and is 5 km from the cafés and restaurants of central Byron Bay. There is a local bus service to and from the town centre which stops in front of the motel. Local activities include surfing and fishing at Broken Head Nature Reserve, only a 10-minute walk away. E-bike rental, drop off and pick up from outside your door, a great way to get around town and explore the stunning beaches of the Byronshire.

Great location, check in instructions were clear and simple to follow. Great to have access to the pool area which was well maintained. Bed was very comfy.

“pretty ok value for money but definitely lacking in areas.”
The price was reasonable for what we got. Had most things we needed in the room and not to far away from shops. The staff I spoke to were so accomodating and wonderful. We cut our stay short because of the weather, it was raining heavily during our trip and we were stuck in doors so we left, and they offered to look after us if we ever came back again. Although, as per what I disliked about it, next time I'll spend a little bit more for a tidier, more modern, bit better equipped room. With windows that fully shut haha

Feels like you are in a sanctuary, beach is over the road, staff are lovely, stayed here with my mum back in 2019 and it’s the same vibe which I love. Definitely would be coming back I just love Tallow beach and the area. Byron has lost of bit of charm and this is only 5 mins away and nicer area to stay, in my opinion. If you’re travelling this is a great place to stay on your east coast journey. Highly recommend.
