“Peaceful stay in Bwejuu”

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay at African Paradise. The owners and staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always attentive without being intrusive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The location is also convenient for those who want to visit Paje. We caught a daladala directly from nearby (10 minutes), and walking back along the beach (40 minutes) a lovely way to end the day as the sun went down. Breakfast was a highlight every morning: fresh fruit, eggs, and a rotating special dish, all served with fresh juice and coffee or tea. We also had dinner one evening, and the fried coconut fish was one of the best meals we had in Tanzania. The beach itself was calm and peaceful, a real contrast to Paje. No vendors approaching you, just the sound of the ocean and space to truly unwind. A fantastic place for anyone looking for an authentic, relaxed experience on Zanzibar. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful stay at The African Paradise Hotel in Zanzibar and would highly recommend it! The first thing that impressed me most was the beautiful beach view. The color of the ocean is absolutely stunning, the beach is clean and peaceful, and every day it was a pleasure just to walk along the shore, relax, and watch the sunset. The whole atmosphere is incredibly calm and relaxing, making it a perfect place to truly slow down and enjoy island life in Zanzibar. The food was also excellent. Every meal felt carefully prepared, everything tasted great, and the ingredients were fresh. Dining in such a beautiful seaside setting made the experience even more enjoyable. What made the stay especially memorable, though, was the owner couple. They were genuinely kind, welcoming, and extremely patient. Whenever I had a question or needed help, they were always ready to assist with warmth and care. Throughout my stay, I really felt that they truly wanted every guest to feel comfortable and happy. If you are looking for a hotel with a beautiful beach, delicious food, and warm, friendly hosts, The African Paradise Hotel is definitely worth choosing. The accommodation is great. Food is awesome, perfect location and very nice rooms. The highlight are the owners and the staff. They are very kind, offer their help everywhere they can. There are free games, beach volleyball, snorkeling masks and a very good WiFi etc. Moreover sometimes they hand out a free drink or snack. The hotel isn’t too big so you get to know the staff, owners and other guests. If you want a couple calm days, this is the perfect stay and you have no reason to leave the place for days.

“A wonderful stay!”

The welcome, even though we arrived at midnight, was warm and very friendly, and the flowers on the bed plus the towel 'sculptures' made our arrival feel very special. Pia and Hassim work hard to create a lovely atmosphere, and the staff are all friendly and full of smiles (plus efficient service). The breakfast deserves a special mention, as Pia and the kitchen staff cannot believe that the very generous three course breakfasts is 'too much'as we tried to protest! We didn't manage all three courses on any of the mornings we were there, but we enjoyed all we ate. Fruit juice, a VERY generous fruit plate of assorted fruits, a second course that varied each day but might include pancakes, beans, sausages, etc, was then followed by an egg course. Eggs any way you could possibly want them. What a great start to the day, and served with the most incredible view over the sand and the sea. Lunches, drinks and evening meals were also very good indeed. Our first floor room had a great sea-view balcony with two relaxing sofas, and we loved watching the sea advance and retreat, and the locals heading along the beach as part of their daily routines. A boat trip out at high tide was amazing, and the temperature of the sea is hard to believe. It is genuinely as hot as bath water! Bwejuu is a poor area, and those living just behind the hotel live in very basic single storey dwellings on dusty streets, drawing water from wells and living very simply. The contrast between their circumstances and the 'paradise' created inside the hotel made us feel even more blessed to have experienced a stay at African Paradise Hotel.

“Amazing Hotel in Paradise, with Wonderful Hosts”

On arrival we received a warm welcome from Pia and Hasim the owners, with a welcome drink and cake. The 6 Bedroom Hotel was set in a perfect location with direct access to the quiet powdery white sand beach, but only a short distance to Paje, if you wanted something more lively. We stayed in the beautifully decorated and very clean 2 Bedroom Suite with private balcony and seaview overlooking the pool and beach. Pia, Hasim and their excellent staff were so attentive to their guest needs throughout our 11 night stay, even to the extent of offering guests a Free Boat Snorkeling Trip, unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day, everyday, plus free cakes in the afternoons. The food they served was excellent from the large 3 plate breakfast, consisting of a Fruit Plate, a Meze or Waffle/Pancake Plate and finished off with an Egg Plate with Toast. The lunch and evening meal menu had a good variation of dishes from local to western meals to suit everyone's palette, of which every meal we had was very good, especially the fish and seafood, plus the wali maharage. Then at the end of our stay before we left the African Paradise, Pia and Hasim even gave us leaving gifts, to help us remember our memorable stay with them at their Hotel/House.

Their warmth and genuine kindness made all the difference and turned a great stay into an unforgettable one. The hotel itself was lovely, clean, comfortable, and perfectly located for a relaxing getaway. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, and the atmosphere was peaceful and inviting. The food at the restaurant was INCREDIBLE and the best food we had in Zanzibar/tanzania!

Anything you can think of during a stay in an exotic paradise was provided. The hosts and staff were very kind and available in such a way that they adapt easily to the needs of their guests. We were welcomed with a lovely fruit juice before being guided to our room.

“Best place in Zanzibar”

The African Paradise has stolen our heart. The location is briliant- right at the beach. Every day you can choose between the sea or the pool. You can walk (or run) for kilometers on the beach. You can walk to Paje if you want huste and bustle, while the hotel is at a peaceful and quiet location. The rooms and pool are good and clean. Food is great, both for breakfast and dinner. But the best part of the hotel are the owners who are genuinely friendly, extremely hospitable and always ready to help. The staff is also friendly and professional.

OMG it was amazing. It was clean, safe and in beautiful surroundings. The bed was super comfortable. The host and all of the staff were super attentive and friendly. We chose one of the balcony rooms and it was 100 % worth paying that little extra for. We had free use of kayaks, and the hotel organised a free boat trip with welcoming drinks and snacks on return. It goes above and beyond in every thing they and their staff do. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“GREAT HOSPITALITY ,WARM PEOPLE, and BEAUTIFUL scenery”

Location: Landed on a quiet beach. Not so many people passing by everyday so u can have a quiet vacation, local people (especially Masai)try to sell products just get used to it hhhhhhh. Lots of shells to pick up around the shore. Meal: U can absolutely trust the chef, everything about seafood is delicious . The price compared to other restaurants nearby is quite good, also don't worry about the food safety. Host: Cute couple! Wish u all well! DON'T hesitate to ask for help, they will always be there! This is really an African paradise! Everything was perfect: excellent breakfast and food, kind hosts and staff. Room was cosy and clean. We received welcome gatherings and some gifts; coffee and tea was for free. There is a pool and the beach is beautiful. Safe neighborhood. Thank you!

We were surprised in a very positive way!!! It was just perfect. The owners are such kind-hearted people, welcoming us very warmly, helping you wherever they can and they are so friendly and also honest all the time during our 6 nights stay that we were almost speechless. We became friends very soon and whenever we will come back to Zanzibar we will visit them again for sure and try to get another stay at this very nice place directly at the beautiful beach. The cocktails were really nice (as a hobby cocktailmixer I know what I am talking about) and the food there honestly was amazing and not expensive. It was the best food that we ate on the island (we also ate at some good rated restaurants but the food at the African Paradise Beach Hotel was better), the chefs there simply do a fantastic job (especially we loved the oktopus, I still dream about that yummy flavour), I cannot describe it in another way... So as a summary we can say the people hosting us there were the best hosts we ever had in our lives. Every bad review for these people and place is not justified in our opinion. So if you want to have a relaxing stay at some nice beach with beautiful white sand besides some activities like snorkeling or visiting the turtle cave, having good food and good cocktails at a beautiful atmosphere surrounded by gentle people then just go there and enjoy! “A little oasis”

Great service, lot of breakfast and small snacks for tea and coffee, everything and everyone was so kind. Walk to Paje on the beach is ~ 45min. Also at night it’s safe to walk there. A little oasis if you want to mind the hectic :) of Stonetown, Nungwi or Paje :)
