An amazing location and above all an amazing host. Bhathiya has a deep connection to the area and is extremely knowledgeable about the local birds and wildlife. A highlight was the evening drive through the cane fields to watch birds coming to roost around a lake. There is also a magical river by the property where you can relax and bathe to cool down. The food, cooked by Bhathiya’s mother is very tasty and plentiful. A huge thank you to you and your family

We’ve stayed in some incredible places in Sri Lanka but this was definitely the most special. Bhathiya and his family were so kind and his local safari was amazing. We’ll be recommending it all friends and family as everyone needs to experience it!! Thanks Bhathiya!

When people ask us about our trip in Sri Lanka, the first thing that pops in mind, is our days with Bathi and his parents, at this lovely fruit plantation, deep in to the sugarcane plantations. Nat his mother cooked us the biggest and most delicious feasts, and our kids felt safe and relaxed to play around the garden, catching frogs and coconut shells, playing in the river and pretending they were driving Bathis open jeep. He took us on a safari in Yala, birdwatching by sunset and also gave us a ride to the local doctor when our son had an ear infection. We stayed there for two night, but wish we would have stayed for longer. Thank you again for this unforgettable experience, with the absolute best treatment we had during our trip. Everyone in Sri Lanka was very nice to us, so it really is a big compliment :) Hope you are well.

“Amazing experience”

Amazing and unforgettable experience living in an open sided house surrounded by nature in the middle of a plantation.Bhati and his family were incredible hosts and our whole 6 day experience was beyond words, Breakfast and dinner was like a Sri Lankan banquet, (also afternoon tea /biscuits) you won't go hungry,(we brought snacks but didn't touch them)a brilliant mix of various vegetable curries, chicken, fish, Dahl, roti, fruits,curd etc.. Our full day safari was outstanding,we saw so many elephants,crocs and even a sloth bear.Bhatis vast knowledge and respect and love of nature is amazing always stopping the jeep to point out birds and animals, we didn't miss a thing.Slept amazingly well,nights were cool and comfortable under the nets and listening to the chorus of wildlife was just so peaceful.Evening jeep to the lakes was unforgettable,hundreds of hornbills, fishing cats and on one night a bull elephant.Bhati is an incredible young man and does everything to make your stay magical. We feel very lucky to have been able to spend time there.10 out of 10 all round.

Our stay was great and so interesting thanks to the great knowledge and explanations of Bhathiya. Thanks a lot to him and his parents for the safari tours, their hospitality and the very good food. It was our most interesting stay so far in Sri Lanka.

“An amazing experience of nature in Sri Lanka with the best guide and incredible food!”

We loved the remote location and the drive through the sugar cane fields to get there. The house is very unique - we liked being surrounded by nature and hearing the sounds of all the wildlife, with nice views of the banana trees and hills in the background. We could see peacocks and iguanas from the breakfast table! It was also very clean and well kept. Bhathiya went above and beyond as a host...he showed us to the river, took us on a garden walk showing us all the natural surroundings and took us out to watch the starlings in the evening. He has amazing knowledge of the wildlife and explains things very well. We also did safari with him and I can't imagine there being a better guide - would definitely recommend. He and his parents made us feel extremely welcome and were always on hand without being intrusive. They served the most amazing and huge meals - his mother is an incredible cook! We could not recommend this place enough!

“Unique accommodation in nature with the best host imaginable”

I can only agree fully with the many positives of other guests. Although The accommodation is quite simple and is basically a camping in an unique setting, everything works, the beds are comfortable, with good mosquito nets, it is very clean. Breakfast and dinner are both outstanding. In the night it is totally quiet - except for the elephant that came to munch banana trees one night. The price is right for the accommodation. The price for breakfast and dinner is very fair. The real standout however is the owner Bathyia who is an absolute gem. On our sri lanka trip we met many kind, hospitable, engaged people but I can’t imagine how a host can be more engaged, more open, more welcoming, more relaxed, more professional or more accessible than Bathiya. We did a half day safari in Yala and the evening bird safari with him and he made it our favorite day of one month travel in sri lanka.

Wonderful host, wonderful food, amazing rooms and location. Bhathi and his family went above and beyond to make sure we had an outstanding time.

We loved being immersed in nature. The first evening Barti took us on a sunset bird safari , which was amazing . At night we loved the stars and the fireflies . The food was exceptional, organic fresh , varied , well presented and totally delicious. Barti’s huge knowledge of wildlife and birds meant we had 5star experience. He took us to Yala block 5 for our safari, and with his knowledge it was perfect.

We loved this place! It’s in the middle of sugar cane plantation and not touristic at all. Bhathi was the best host ever! He picked us up, took us on a lovely evening game drive to the lakes to watch the sunset and rare birds and was an awesome guide for our safari in Yala National park. We felt that Bhathi loves and respects the wild animals. His mother prepared a delicious dinner. We truly recommend this place. It was an unique experience.

“Beautiful, unique location with incredible hosts”

The best place we have stayed so far in Sri Lanka, well suited to cycle travellers! Incredible location in the middle of the jungle, with a river to take a dip in, fresh fruit from their organic farm and open air accomodation. Bhathiya was the best host taking us on an evening drive around the sugar plantation to watch the birds at dusk. His parents made us the most delicious Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast (with leftovers for a packed lunch for our travels the next day).

“Perfect location, amazing hospitality”

An amazing experience right next to Yala National Park, in the middle of sugarcane plantations and surrounded by unique wildlife that you can spot during a jeep tour around the hotel. I received an incredibly warm welcome, and both breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend it – it was one of the highlights of my trip through Sri Lanka!

“A real immersive experience into nature”

This is not a simple accomodation, this is a unique and immersive experience into nature and Sri Lanka culture. The owner is a special person and he will host you at his best, you could feel sourranded by attention since the beginning. The place is a farm in the middle of a sugarcane plantation. You will sleep having an open window to sounds of nature and fireflys will appear over your beds. Everything is super clean and the dinner was fantastic, prepared by the host’s mum. We made a Safari at Yala gate 3 and thanks to wonderful guidance we saw 3 leopards, mangust, eagles and crocodiles We are first guest from Italy..i cannot recommend it more!!

“Real Sri Lanka Style”

It was a fantastic experience. Our host, Bhathia, took such loving care of us. He showed us and explained the many plants in his garden. His mother is an amazing cook and spoiled us every day with a hearty breakfast and a wonderful dinner. The private safari in the nearby Yala Park was also very nice; we even saw a leopard. The house has no windows, but that wasn't a problem at all. Quite the opposite: it was lovely to hear all the animals and birds—real wildlife at day and at night. There is a mosquito net over the bed so you can sleep peacefully and not get bitten by moskitos. A small river behind the house is perfect for cooling. All in all, a very nice stay in the middle of nature with very friendly and helpful hosts. Don't expect luxury, but everything is very clean. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back sometime.

The farm that Bathy and his family live on is a little piece of paradise. Sitting close to the entrance to Yala national park. Walking tours of the farm, local nature/sunset drives and full on safari drives in Yala are available. We saw leopards and elephants on these. The food his family cooked was the best we’ve eaten in Sri Lanka and we’ve been here for several weeks now eating in restaurants for every meal. The farm is a wonderful place to just ‘be’. Suitable for every type of traveler. We’re a family with 2 children under 8 years old snd it was so wonderful. The family were so attentive and kind and welcoming whilst also giving us space to ourselves as well. Even just on the farm there’s lots of monkeys, hornbills, parrots and bats to be seen. The night sky is also amazing with so little light pollution. There is a beautiful river running beside the property that we swam in every day to cool down. Bathy’s wildlife knowledge of his home is encyclopedic and very interesting.

Beautiful experience, staying on Bhathiyas family farm. Location is remote, so perfect place to take in the area, Safari, eat, relax. All the food made by his Mum was amazing! Would highly recommend for anyone that was to be off grid!

“Wonderful amazing house and bhati running this was great”

Bhati was amazing. Our kids loved him and everything about the open sided accommodation cool mosquito nets, looking round his fruit farm and trying all the fruits they picked, amazing dinner, cool open air safari car etc etc. He took us on a great explore in the evening around the sugar cane farm and tried sugar cane etc and climbing local towers looking for elephants. So close to buttala but so remote we didn’t see any other tourists and everyone was so friendly. We had so much fun with him and wished we’d stayed longer. Yala morning safari was incredible also we saw so much and amazing breakfast in the park. Totally recommend this for a family adventure
