Bookings of 2 or more people in dormitory beds are not guaranteed to be in the rooms. Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform Vancouver Backpacker House in advance of your expected arrival time. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Payment before arrival is required. Please contact property to get your door pin code through phone text message, WhatsApp, Line Please note the Vancouver Backpacker House takes no responsibility for any lost, damaged or stolen luggage or personal property. Please make use of our luggage room or valuables storage at the front desk if you are travelling with valuables, or keep the valuables on your person at all times. A damage deposit of CAD 100 is required. The property charges this days before arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 14 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full via credit card, subject to an inspection of the property.

Creepy and horrible. Just some random dilapidated house. Owners will badger you all day and night to send them more money for PayPal fees.

It was convenient and close to Metrotown which was good because I needed the catch the sky train there. Yeah it was comfortable affordable. Everything was well organized. Staff was good. Price was great and yeah all around I was pleased with it.

“I've been scamed (and my roommate too)”
I feel like I've been scamed (and my roommate too) : on booking, there were 2 ads : - 1 of 50€ for a single bed in dormitory (10 beds) = regular price + photo of the dormitory - 1 of 43€ for a double bed in private room = discount price + photo of the double bed. Only 1 offer left ! So I thought I was lucky to have such an opportunity ! but when I arrive, my room was the dormitory where I had to choose 1 bed among the 10. + The annonce had disappeared and the one regarding the dormitory indicated 43€ instead of 50€ (as a regulat price) . And it left so many beds free and not occupied.

“Convenient, Cheap and Friendly - Vancouver Backpacker House”
The best part about Vancouver Backpacker House was the friendly faces both from Max, the manager and Nancy the caretaker. They were very helpful and lovely to chat with. Nancy especially made me feel very welcomed in a city I was new to. The other guests are what truly makes a hostel experience worthwhile. I was introduced to many lovely folk and despite not being in the heart of downtown, Burnaby is still a side of BC I was happy to call my temporary home.
