One of the best stays in Japan!

This was my favorite place of the two week trip in Kyushu! The staff was so kind, the food was delicious and the accomodation was so bright and spacios. And the surroundings are stunning as well. I cannot recommend this Ryokan enough!

Sugoi!

The place is fabulous! Middle of nowhere a cosy room with fantastic dinner and breakfast. The young chef is a wizard and the ladies running the place are like grandmothers you always wanted to have.

Dreams came true

The elderly staff are so lovely despite minimal English is spoken. The whole place is very low key and feels very authentic as almost all other guests are Japanese. The exterior of the main building looks traditional while the interior is quite modern. Our detached Japanese suite is spacious, clean and comfortable. The entire place gives us a sense of calmness and peace. The real highlight is the meals, we are fed like king and queen. All the dishes are delicious, fresh and beautifully presented. The handmade soba is simply devine, while duck shabu shabu is unusual.

If you are looking for a nice traditional ryokan place without spending too much money, this is the right place to stay

Is a very traditional ryokan stay with traditional meals prepared for you for breakfast and dinner. We stayed for 2 nights and the meals are different for both. This is a very quiet place and if you are looking for activities around, there isn’t much. However if you drive, then you can move around to enjoy some nice places

Amazing place, just wow. The location is stunning, and the staff was super friendly and hospitable. The dinner and breakfast were just superb, many tasty and local dishes! A hot onsen on premise rounded off a perfect stay. Would have loved to stay longer.

Absolutely amazing accommodation set in the stunning countryside of Oita. The onsen was beautiful but what made this place was the lovely staff and the 5 star quality food. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city then this is your place.

An excellent traditional Japanese ryokan

A delightful traditional Japanese ryokan, in a peaceful rural setting. Very friendly staff and the most beautifully presented and delicious dinners and breakfasts. We stayed for two nights and slept very deeply and awoke feeling rested and relaxed. A magical experience.

Fantastic place

A beautiful Japanese room in a wonderful location right next to the Fukiji temple and on the Kunisakinontou trail, so lots of walking and plenty of historical/cultural sights nearby. The landlady was absolutely lovely and had enough English to ensure we managed to communicate successfully during my entire stay. The meals ware outstanding: beautifully presented (I don't generally photograph my food, but made an exception in this case!), delicious, varied, copious and always interesting. When you factor in the cost, the value-for-money is off the scale. I don't know how they manage to provide this kind of service at this price. I heartily recommend this place to anyone wanting to try a Ryokan - it's the full experience!
