Wow, the staff where amazing. The guests were all enjoying themselves. The hostel is extremely clean and tidy and the staff go out of their way to help everyone in need.

Rougey Lodge is a good old hostel — not too fancy or luxurious, as it should be. Just the basics, a laid-back attitude, and good people. Manon, the hostel manager, is a great host and will certainly win your heart with her kind eyes, smile, and genuine presence. She definitely stole mine, big time. But beware: Bundoran and Rougey Lodge might easily lure you in with their charm and make you want to leave your life and worries behind, staying longer than planned — from an extra day to years. You won’t be the first, and you won’t be the last. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

Love the vibe! People from so many nationalities come together to surf here... even if you are not a surfer, you are very much welcome. Easy on the pocket, great location.

I stayed at Rougey Lodge Hostel with one of my friends to de-stress from work and enjoy the scenic beauty of Doneagal, and it was exactly what I needed. The staff were magical......always surfing, always smiling, and never intrusive. It felt like stepping into a slower, more peaceful rhythm of life. I didn’t surf myself, but watching them made me want to learn. The whole vibe was calm and inspiring.

This hostel is very pleasant and clean and spacious. It is located right on the high street but it is quiet. There is a supermarket right next door; moreover, there is a free parking also next door. Tons of pubs and eateries around. The beach is just a stone’s throw away. The staff are delightful and very friendly. Special thanks to them for the late night check in :) The kitchen is fully equipped. The staff are very much into surfing :)) I will deffo come back :)

Everyone was very nice and the room was quite comfortable. The room had a private bathroom attached to it which was very good as well. In the morning there was breakfast included which wasn’t anything special but definitely good enough.

Great location, very nice staff, easy check-in. I had a nice and clean bedroom. Bathroom was also very clean, shower worked well, Kitchen was well-equipped, breakfast was also good. Would definitely come here again.

It's great as a surf hostel, couldn't have wished for more - very close to the 2 main surfing spots (I walkable, the other a minute drive). It's on the main road near pubs, cafes and restaurants, and a short walk from the coast.

What is an outstanding positive for me is that after the 2-week 500km pilgrimage so far, it was resolved at my request that I would not have to sleep on top of the bunk bed. I was able to spend 2 wonderful days in a very friendly environment.
