Scammers

Unfortunately, I'll never think of returning to this hostel. The receptionist greeted me without a smile. I arrived around 11:30 AM and asked if I could check in before 3 PM. She replied in a strange tone that I had to come between 3 PM and 6 PM. I asked her to stay in the hostel's common areas, especially to charge my phone, and she told me I only had 15 minutes to do so. I'm a frequent traveler, and I've never been treated like this in any of the hostels I've stayed in. She didn't even take the time to explain the places I could visit in Budapest.

A truly exceptional place at the amazing location of Margitsziget. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. There is also a lovely terrace to chill. No need to bring your own padlock as you get keys for your locker automatically

The location is very central, and the room had a private bathroom, which is good value for the money.

Beautiful place on Margaret Island. Great price-value ratio. Friendly staff, well-equipped hostel, fabulous location. One of my favorit places in Budapest. I genuinely recommend it. Beautiful people in a beautiful place.

Really cute and quiet hostel, room and bathroom was clean. Cheap and affordable. Kitchen was well equipped

I had very good communication with the staff before travelling. I had a late flight, so was worried about check-in, but they were very accommodating and friendly

“Fair for what you pay, but wouldn’t stay here twice”

Location is great, you can walk to all the most important places in Budapest from there. There’s is a box under the bed with a provided lock and key to store your belongings which is nice to avoid stress when you’re out. The island itself has plenty of places to eat too. The terrace was really nice, I enjoyed that especially on sunny days, it’s really handy to get some air without having to leave the hostel. They provide labels and a pen to label your food in the fridge whenever you buy anything, hot water also worked fine in the shower, and staff were friendly.

All was good. Location was exceptional.

We chose Island Hostel Budapest as our accommodation for a running event. We stayed for one night from March 20th to 21st, 2026. We stayed in a quadruple room with bunk beds. The room was clean, as were the beds and the bathroom. There is a pub located right next to the hostel, and the terrace offers a beautiful view of the nearby Parliament building. The staff was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place!

Amazing location , beautiful views and the island is gorgeous, the beds were really comfy, the shower nice and hot, the kitchen had great facilities, excellent lockers and easy to use entrance key fob , the terrace is fantastic and the staff absolutely wonderful and it all feels very welcoming, relaxed and safe!
