“Simply the best - gateway to Champagne”

We returned to Chateau des Roises after our first visit less than a year ago because it is such a wonderful place with the most generous, friendly and hospitable hosts - Aurelio and Anne-Marie. Huge thanks to them both and we could not recommend the Chateau highly enough. Breakfasts fit for a king and queen. Oh, and the new billy goats are a fantastic addition. We will be back!

A real treasure. It’s a family affair. The father hosts, (and is a real character), the daughter has done the decor and the son has a career in looking after old buildings. It’s a lovely set-up. The room was very pretty, (we had the top room). Very comfortable and very quiet.

It was a unique historic setting, very tastefully restored. Very quiet and tranquil, beautifully restful stop in our busy itinerary.

Hosts were wonderful. Very welcoming, helped with restaurant suggestions. Provided breakfast in the chateau kitchen. The chateua itself is a fascinating renovation project in an idyllic setting.

We loved staying here and the warm welcome to us and our dogs, plus a delicious breakfast and most elegant room.

Chateau des Roises is an ancient "maison forte"with quite a bit of history. Rooms are authentic en give you a feel of a trip back in time. The building itself is fantastic. Breakfast is very generous with plenty of food to choose from. The host and hostess are very friendly and eager to help. They also love to have a chat (in French...).

“A French experience at its best”

Everything..The hosts are lovely people they are so welcoming. And the gentlemans opening greeting was. "Our home is your home" For anyone who wants to experience the real france, you will find it here... it is very historical and nearly 500 years old. And it was a joy to be able to stay there. Breakfast was absolutely beutifull.the total tranquillity, no sound at night, is amazing.. And we intend to return next year.

We were received in such a friendly way that we fekt imediately at home. Aurelio and his wife are the perfect host ab=nd the "Chateau" has an incredible enrgy filled of quiet, history and peace. The room are not just amazing but an experience that bring you back in the past with elegance anf]d good taste for decoration and details. Even if the Chateau is old everything work perfectly in the rooms. The breakfast in the compant of Aurelio and his wike is like wake up in the morning in holiday with your family. The complete breakfast will make you spend more time than usual at the table that is set in all horse house. We stay just 1 night but we wnat to come back for more. Merci!

This place feels historically rich and really treated with respect, everything has been taken care of. Hosts are really courteous and patient with your missing French. Because of our mistake with booking we did not expect the room with breakfast but had luxurious breakfast nevertheless :) We felt very well treated, thank You!

“Beautiful chateau and friendly hosts”

This is a gorgeous property with friendly hosts if you are looking for a rural France experience. It is located about 20 kilometres - a 10-30 minute drive - from the 16th century city of Troyes which is well worth a visit. A traditional French breakfast is provided of local cheeses, preserved meats, bread and croissants. The Chateau is very historic and the guest rooms are beautiful. There is a local restaurant about 2 kilometres away that serves dinner or you can bring provisions for a cold evening meal to have in your room. We were really glad to have stayed at the Chateau as it is beautiful and a welcome change from always being in cities.

The most charming, 16th century chateau in a perfect location for stopping half way through France. Nearby to the beautiful mediaeval city of Troyes, worth a visit in itself and where there are lots of great places to eat. Huge bedroom with beautiful antique furniture, wooden beams and a fantastic breakfast with the freshest croissants, bread, meats and cheese - and the most charming hosts. Highly recommended and fantastic value.
