A hidden Gem Thank you to the wonderful team at Ocean Villa Heights. This hotel is truly a hidden gem, as a frequent traveller it is rare to find a hotel that is small and friendly but still offers great service. The food was fabulous with a substantial varied breakfast with home made cakes and cooked breakfast alongside the usual buffet style seen at most hotels The chefs have mastered the art of combining African and European cuisine and the food was so good that I had to invite my friends along to try it for themselves The hotel is spotless with all of the facilities you need for a relaxed and comfortable stay. Just down from the hotel is a pristine beach a real beach bums paradise with a variety of bars (I still have many to explore!) But the best and most important things to mention is the staff, nothing was too much trouble and too many names to mention but their professional attitude and the warm welcome that they gave me has made sure that I will be returning to Ocean Villa Heights very soon

I only liked where the hotel was located and it was easy to get to the beach. The two office manager were professional and polite along with one of the mangers wife. The ginger juice in the morning was the best thing to drink, otherwise there was not much to like. The outside grounds was good for yoga in the mornings. Its not a place to spend your time there if you wanted to chill.

Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Quiet access down to the beach which gave long and interesting walking opportunities.

Overall, I really liked it. :) The pool is very clean Very close to the beach ! You can see ocean from the garden and from balcony. And feel the breeze and relaxing sound. They have very good cook! The kitchen prepared tasty omelets and very good dinner and lunch . And the hotel offered options to customize the breakfast to suit larger groups. Few minor issues, which the staff corrected as soon as I brought them to their attention.

“Perfect holiday”

Quiet and secluded. Small hotel, great service. It is a little old, but newly painted and clean. AC and hot shower worked perfect. Beach approximity is great. Fun, BIG waves. You don’t swim but tumble (not for small children). Hardly any people at the beach or at the hotel’s pool which is also kept very clean. But plenty of beach bars/cafes. And beautiful sunsets. Hardly any bugs, but there is also no humidity as such in February. We enjoyed the balcony with ocean view during siestas. Paula, Bibi and the rest of the staff were so kind and helpful with tours, use of paypal and late check out. Despite the small size of the hotel, the kitchen was open all day till 9 pm, with a rather large menu card. It is not 5 European standard stars, but definitely 5 African stars. I loved our stay and highly recommend it to anyone.

The staff is friendly and doing there very best to please everyone. The location is good. Away from all the tourists, but still easy to take a 10-15 min tranaport to the busy Senegambia. The pool is cleaned everyday. There is a direct passage to a nice beach and a beachbar called ocean blue bar, there is a really nice and humble guy working there called Lamin. He deserves some extra credit.

Everyone was very helpful and friendly. A nice relaxed stay. The food was very good and I enjoyed traditional Gambian food cooked fresh. When I needed help finding the right cash point I was taken care of and was helped with a lift to the cash point. Thank you. When I left I was offered help if I needed to while staying in the country. It is a wonderful family atmosphere and a caring place to stay I would definitely stay again. Thank you to everyone who works there.

Regards breakfast and food in general, Mr T and Sonya were fantastic cooks who prepared a lovely continental spread for us daily. They also offer cooked breakfasts as well. Furthermore the times of finishing breakfast dont really apply and they will continue to cook way past this time. Mr T's scrambled eggs were some of the best I have eaten. The evening meals were out of this world cooked to order and taste wise you could ask for more. Again the staff went out of their way to accomodate our requests. Accomodation was superb, location again superb. I also have to mention the other staff here. Mr Bibi, Amal, Nday and Caba. They are a fantastic team and made our stay super special. Paula the manager/Director of the place is also super friendly and runs a very tight ship. We will be returning here without doubt that yet again we will experience the most friendliest of welcome and most enjoyable stay.

Owner, Richard, was extremely welcoming, courteous and generous with his time. All staff very helpful and knowledgeable about local area. Excellent location, with access to beautiful beach. Hotel itself is really very laid out, spacious and comfortable. Food was excellent. Outdoor area with pool is perfect for relaxing. Couldn't recommend highly enough

“Overall, a decent place to stay to rest your head.”

The cooked breakfast consisted of egg made to your liking, sausages and beans. However, the Chef was accommodating if you wished to have it made differently. There was cereal, milk, tea, coffee and juice as well as fresh fruit -melon and papaya. The breakfast table also served as a pool table which was made available after breakfast time. We stayed in twin beds. Air conditioning was available to use. The water from the shower was always hot. The pool was available and towels were provided for the sun beds. Football was always on the TV - so the entertainment was just that but it was fine.

Outside of the wonderful location, the team at the hotel are some of the most gracious and warmhearted people I’ve ever met. Always a delight to talk to, always happy to help and advice.
