“Beyond our expectations.”

We had an amazing experience at Dabo house... It was just the perfect stay for my family. The rooms are large, the beds are huge and comfortable, the place is spotless, they have all the facilities you can ask for - air con, fans, mosquito nets, bins, plenty of bedding/towels... The Breakfast was included and delicious - pancakes, eggs, bread, local jams, fresh fruit, local fruit juices. With such a hearty breakfast, we skipped lunch sometimes! Salif, the caretaker is the loveliest person you can meet - he will go out of his way to do anything to make your visit comfortable.... and he is an excellent cook if you want dinner at a low cost. The beach is about a 15 minute walk and if you go just after noon, you might catch a fisherman returning with his catch - twice we bought fresh fish and had it cooked - delicious! The sandy beach is clean - we walked one way all the way to Ghanatown and the other way to Bijilo beach. Next door to the house is a bakery making fresh bread - try it! Walking distance to the shops too. The swimming pool was clean and refreshing. I cannot fault the place in any way!

“Look no further if you are looking for a place to stay, Dabo House is great!”

Wonderful, tasty food. Most of the vegetables used for our food were home-grown and organic. Very kind and attentive staff. Great location on a quiet side road, but close to shops and restaurants. The house is in a residential area, it’s not loud and we felt very safe all the time. The cook Salif is great, we had dinner at the compound and it was always delicious. Both Salif and his assistant Amara told us a lot about local food and tea culture, as well as the use of local herbs, it was a great opportunity to learn more about Gambia. Easy access to taxi if needed. About 15 minutes walk through residential area to the beach, which is really beautiful. Nice, small beach bars. The room was spacious and clean, the adjacent bathroom was pleasant and clean too. We loved the compound with the large mango tree providing shade in the courtyard and the pool. Dabo House is a great place to relax and we are already planning our next trip there. We can warmly recommend staying at Dabo House, it really became our ”home away from home”.

Lovely place with very friendly and hospitable atmosphere! We felt very welcome :-) Good bed, good shower (hot in case you like), nice swimmingpool, plenty of chairs around to relax. Airport transfer can be arranged.

We lived it, felt as home there!!! The people were very friendly, the room had a lot of space. Dabo house will be in our hearts.

Salifu and the rest of the Dabo House crew made me feel warmly welcome and helped me with everything I needed. The atmosphere was relaxing, the garden and birds lovely, the pool refreshing, the bed huge and comfortable and the food amazing. My best stay yet after 18 years of coming to the Gambia.

This is my favorite spot in the Gambia and really feels like my second home. It is comfortable, safe and clean. Staff is friendly in a professional way and will help you find a solution to any problem. Salifs food is always delicious. The pool in nice and clean. The neighbpurhood is safe and it is possible to mert locals in a relaxed way if you want. This time I travelled with my 8 year old daughter and she loved the experience.

Great welcoming staff, lovely pool to relax and cool down, fantastic breakfast including eggs and fruit salad. We were the only guests there as low season and staff very accommodating to our needs. It was the Euro championship final and they made sure some of our party could watch the final on tv. Rooms were very clean and well care for. Bedding very comfortable on main room. Swimming pool is small but very clean and deep so you can swim. They turn on the lights at night if you fancy swimming then Very convenient for local transport to local day trips and close to many restaurants/bars and minimarkets

Nice room, clean, welcoming hosts, good breakfast, nice pool. Tea and coffee always available. Location is a 15 minute walk from the beach. A 2 minute walk to a couple of good mini-markets. We really enjoyed our stay!

Dabo house was a true gem. I truly believe my holiday was enhanced by my stay at Dabo House!!! I loved the location!!! The sunrise on the roof terrace was breath taking!! The staff were amazing - especially Mr Saleef who made our stay so much more comfortable!! He was always there to assist with advice and more! He made the best Ataya tea for us to drink!! He was a true and generouse host!!! I cant imagine staying anywhere else whilst on holiday to the Gambia!!! Having tea and talking to staff made me feel at home!!! They sorted out Taxi drivers at good prices for me! They even carried my luggage across the sand a few minutes down the road!!! If you want a lovely, authentic and safe experience then upon you is this Beautiful Hotel! The pictures they have up on bookings.com does no justice! The Hotel is suprisingly charming!!! The price was also incredible for what they offered!!! They had air con which I never ecpected at this price. They also had back up generator to keep lights on and fan incase of the untimely local black outs. 10/10 could not score any better!!! A truly lovely experience!!! It is quiet- local activity that tells you this is Gambia. They use the mango , papaya, banana Palm oil the trees at the place for cocking.
