Situated right by the ferry terminal in the Brijuni National Park, Hotel Istra has stylish air-conditioned rooms with LCD satellite TVs and provides free WiFi in the lobby. Galija Restaurant features a terrace and serves samples of creative Mediterranean cuisine, including a choice of seafood and meat specialities, as well as flambéed desserts. “A precious hotel with the soul of the past.”
An irreplaceable sea view with spacious rooms that still carry the spirit of their time. That is exactly what makes them so special, because they are not like most of today’s typical modern rooms. The fireplaces, although no longer functional, still give the rooms their own warmth and charm. I love that the part of the hotel where we stayed has not been aggressively renovated and still preserves elements of the past that give the hotel a unique atmosphere — for example, the huge and spacious old wardrobes. Our room (suite) consisted of two connected rooms and two bathrooms — one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. The entrance to the hotel, the older carpets, the doors — everything “old” here has its own charm, and I am glad it was not replaced with newer, more “sterile” furnishings that would take away the soul of the hotel, and I truly hope it never will be. Down by the reception, the old telephone booths are still there. They are no longer in use, but seeing them takes you back to the last era that shaped this hotel, whose history actually dates back to the Austro-Hungarian period. The hotel has 3 stars, but personally, I would give it 5. I also hope they will not renovate the older elevators, which have been partially modernized but still retain elements of the original lifts. It would be wonderful for the hotel to preserve, for as long as possible, the last historical era that left its mark on it. I would also add the exceptionally kind staff, especially the lady and gentleman at the reception.

The staff were extremely friendly, the hotel room clean and comfy. It all has a communist flair but very beautiful. It is extremely quiet on the whole island, so our stay was amazingly relaxing. The food was great!

We had a wonderful time in Brijuni, as we always do. The island never fails to impress us with its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. We truly appreciate the warm hospitality—the hotel staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable, well equipped, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

The hotel is located in a national park, and the island's natural beauty is breathtaking. The perfect way to explore is by bike. The hotel itself is somewhat plain, but perfectly clean. There was a long line for the self-service dinner and breakfast, which was a bit frustrating. The staff is friendly and helpful.
