Overview
The Grandhotel Giessbach is a historic house from 1874 and enjoys a secluded position on a hill above Lake Brienz amid a 22-hectare park. It offers views over Lake Brienz and the Giessbach Waterfall,an outdoor pool, 2 restaurants, one of which features a summer terrace, and free parking. Free WiFi is available in all areas. It is located at the foot of the Giessbach Waterfall and is directly connected to the Giessbach ship pier by Europe's oldest funicular. All guest rooms in the Grandhotel Giessbach feature carefully restored original furniture with 19-century charm. The two restaurant serve modern and creative cuisine. Half board includes a 4-course dinner.

“It’s the best place in Switzerland!”
It was amazing. The location is great. The view is something unbelievable. The rooms are clean. It’s old building, but you don’t feel this. You can feel only the romantic style of the hotel. Reception is very nice and helpful.

The setting is stunning, the hotel must occupy arguably one of the most iconic settings in the Bernese Oberland. The Geisbach Falls are beautiful and the view out across Lake Brienz is gorgeous. It's one of those hotels which feels like a once-in-a-lifetime stay, it's got a must-visit appeal.

“Fabulous but expensive”
The breakfast was excellent. The waterfall was amazing and we could see it and the lake from our balcony. It was extremely loud and did not sleep well. Would have loved to stay another night but it was too expensive. Lovely hotel in lovely surroundings and great staff.

“Absolutely Amazing Stay!”
Location absolutely stunning. Hotel is beautiful All staff were wonderful. Excellent Buffet breakfast And the 2 restaurants for dinner were very good, Delicious food,beautiful restaurant setting with waterfall views,we loved every thing about this hotel. The pianist Giuseppe was exceptional a real pleasure to listen too.👌

“Granhotel Giessbach Getaway”
We had a wonderful stay at the Grandhotel. The staff were all very nice and helpful, in particular Sebastian at reception. We stayed in one of the rooms at the front of the hotel with a small balcony and a spectacular view of Lake Brienz and the waterfall. The room was really clean, spacious, and comfortable. The food was delicious and well presented. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, with a lovely walk down to the lake, the funicular train, and several hikes around the waterfall. The outdoor pool area is also lovely, both for a swim and to sit down for a while. A wonderful, tranquil slice of heaven. Can't wait to return!

“Perfect getaway hotel in Switzerland”
The most beautiful place I have ever stayed at! It was the favorite part of my trip - hotel was absolutely mindblowing, it looked like something from a history book and I loved it. Bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom looked brand new, and the view was extraordinary! Had dinner at the restaurant which faces the waterfall and the food was incredible, the staff probably the nicest I’ve ever experienced. And the BREAKFAST was the best breakfast I have ever had at any hotel before!! Would 100000% recommend this hotel to anyone and I could come to stay here again!

Absolutely amazing property , the grounds have much to offer , got recommended a little hiking route up behind the hotel for beautiful view points of Lake Brienz and Brienz town, Polite and helpful staff , the dinner was amazing , comfortable beds , beautiful place , exceeded expectations.

Terrific location and view, very nice and helpful staff, great bar and restaurant Cascade. We stayed in the superior room with forest view: want to mention very comfortable bed and convenient shower! Overall: Definitely a unique place full of history!!!
