“Outstanding!!!”

Marie-Claire was THE best host, ever. She was kind, compassionate and understanding of my disability needs. Outstanding.

Lovely hotel. I really recommend having the dinner in the restaurant - it was the best food I had all trip. Spacious, clean rooms and comfortable beds. It was a great place to stay. Very kind people.

A lovely warm friendly welcome, breakfast was amazing

Friendly welcome, super clean, great bed and lovely decoration and quality bedding, brilliant breakfast all at a great price, can't recommend it highly enough 5 star

“Good location and interesting decor. Dog friendly”

Very quirky interesting hotel . Comfortable and clean and we found it easy to park outside. Dog friendly and friendly owners. Sadly we didn’t get to try dinner as the restaurant was booked for a party . Breakfast was very good.

Eclectic establishment very much a one off but wonderfully roomy and comfortable Every facility you could want and warm friendly hostess who looked after every thing I needed on my cycling trip both me and my bicycle The evening trajine meal was exceptional and all over excellent value for money The restaurant itself is worth a visit even if you are not staying there I don’t speak French and their English was very limited but the friendly approach made it a joy to stay and we understand each other with my schoolboy French, so don’t feel put off if you are seeking an establishment with fluent English you will get by very well here

“A lovely place to stay in Briare”

We had cycled to Briare from the outskirts of Paris and arrived around 4pm on a Sunday evening. The accommodation was lovely and there was a secure area for us to store our bikes. We set off early the next day but not before enjoying a breakfast including pastries, fruit, yogurts, juice and coffee.

“A nice small hotel situated on our cycle route with safe bicycle storage”

We were travelling by bicycle and there was safe cycle storage for our bicycles. The hotel proprietor very pleasant. Restaurant at the hotel, although we didn't use it. Briare is on the Loire a Velo cycle route.

Super family bedroom, lots of space and comfy beds. The couscous was delicious and the hosts was very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.

“Great stay!”

The food being served at the Grillade was sensational from dinner on the first night through to breakfast. The Moroccan dinner was outstanding, along with the French breakfasts; the hosts went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable time.

“Quaint location and Quaint hotel”

Loved the location had everything nearby and not far to walk to. The host herself is amazing lady with alot time for guests and nothing to much if asked for assistance. Quaint little hotel which I would highly recommend to anyone who is travelling through for a overnight stay.

“Toujours tres accueillant”

We have stayed at La Grillade a number of times over the past 6 years and are always impressed by the welcome we receive, the comfort and spaciousness of the room and the continuing upgrade of decor and facilities. Parking on the street in the area is not an issue, and it is very convenient for everything in Briare, including the train station with direct connection to Paris. We look forward to our next stay.

A lovely place to stay, in a beautiful area. The hosts are very welcoming and pleasant. A real pleasure to stay there.

We enjoyed our stay in this unusual hotel, nothing was too much trouble for Marie-Claire and her assistant, all as said in other reviews. I wish I had taken a photo of the tagine, it wouldn’t be out of place in an art gallery. Briare is a perfect base for cycling trips along the river and the canals.

“Perfect pit stop”

Marie-Claire and her husband are so welcoming and kind. The first thing she did was to welcome us in and clean our water bottles and pop them in the fridge for tomorrow. We were cycle touring and she has a secure place to park the bikes which is great. We had the tagine with couscous and I can honestly say it's the best I've ever tasted. Lovely people, delicious food, very comfy bed. What else could you need?

Third stay at property, friendly helpful staff, great location, easy parking. Good facilities.

“Amazing hostess, great accommodation in quiet location.”

Fantastic accommodation. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Our bikes were securely stored. The communication with the hostess was excellent. She is kind and made us feel very welcome. We are defintely intending to stay again in the future.

Lovely hosts Marie Claire and Patrick insisted on carrying our bags up the stairs and provided secure storage for our bicycles
