Overview
Auberge de la Paix is a charming French inn situated in the heart of the beautiful old town of Briançon. Individually decorated rooms feature satellite TV and free Wi-Fi is available in public areas. Briançon is a lovely little town at the hub of the tourist region, perched on a hill and surrounded by a stunning mountain landscape. A range of skiing and summer recreational activities are on offer throughout the year. After a day in the outdoors guests can dine on traditional cuisine in the well-known restaurant, which is open every day except Wednesday.

Good location in the heart of historic and unique Briançon. Authentic, old but comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Pretty good restaurant. Accessible parking within easy walking distance, which is not always the case in such mountain locations.

“Clean, comfortable and quiet”
Clean, comfortable, quiet room. The inn was a very short walk from the most amazing panoramic view. Dinner available on site, even for a vegan.

“Cozy, comfortable hotel in the historic part of Briançon.”
It was exactly what I was looking for, a simple, historic, cozy, clean well-run hotel in the old part of the city. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us into our room hours before the stated check-in time as soon as a room was available. The room was small but had everything I needed, including coffee and tea-making facilities, lighting, outlets and USB ports on both sides of the bed. The small restaurant was very good for lunch and dinner as well as the breakfast buffet.

“Great place to stay, with comfort and character.”
The location in a 14th century building in the old town was fantastic. The restaurant was closed for a staff holiday break so we dined elsewhere. Our room was on the top floor with two windows looking down on the street at the back of the building and surrounding rooftops. The decor in the stairway was unsual and quirky. Lots of deer! The red stair carpet and wooden handrails added to the atmosphere. Our room was large and comfortable, with a modern bathroom and separate toilet. We had a very peaceful night, with the windows open to let some cool air in. The auberge is a top spot. I rate it very highly. We left our car in paid parking at Parking Blanchard overnight but noticed on an evening walk a sign saying that the auberge has lock-up garage and you can ask for the key at reception. We enjoyed our stay at the auberge immensely. Briancon is a fascinating place with lots of history.
