Located in the beautiful Breiddalur Valley, Eyjar Fishing Lodge arranges fishing, hiking and horse riding activities. It has a hot tub, sauna and guest lounge with panoramic valley views. All guest rooms at Eyjar Lodge have wooden floors, showers and TVs. Free wired internet is included. A buffet breakfast is served during summer months from beginning of June and to early September and dinners are not provided. Before and after access to kitchen is allowed to make own breakfast. The Ring Road tourist trail is located less than 4 km away. Breiddalsvík Village is within 15 minutes’ drive.

“Comfortable, quiet, great breakfast, friendly hosts.”
On arrival, surprised to find open but empty, all rooms seemed available, so chose 1, turned out we were the only occupants, so quiet!! Hosts turned up in the morning, produced a buffet, FOR 2!!, Of note was the superb locally-caught smoked salmon, head & shoulders above farmed. Amazing views from/around the property, dinner (5 mile) was lovely.

We will remember the atmosphere of the Eyjar Fishing Lodge forever. There is nothing else around and the fantastic view is not obscured by anything. I highly recommend! Good breakfast. The microwave and electric keetle in the common area were nice to have.

“Very cool but room to improve!”
What we loved: - sauna and jacuzzi (if we would have know how to make it work, we asked the owner but never got a reply). - the living room felt homie with cool objects and books and other cool stuff! - terrasse with impressive views. - espresso machine was great! - the bedroom was also nice, but tv way too tiny for 2025 ;)

“Lovely spot with gorgeous views.”
Felt very homely. Lovely views. Could chill in the lovely lounge with coffee and just enjoy the scenery. Breakfast was nice. Dinner was available 15 mins away in nearest town. Had hot tub but we didn't use it.

A hidden treasure is all i can say. A home away from home. Actually, i'd like my home to look like this and have this level of coziness. Very tidey, spacious, luxurious without being trendy, everything is top notch. An old fashioned quality lodge, with sauna and hottub and excellent breakfast for a price that is inpossible to beat. Highest recommendation.

The room was okay—clean and decent overall. However, the place felt a bit eerie since there was no staff or other guests around. It was kind of scary being there alone. A little more presence or support would’ve made the stay feel safer.

The location is very beautiful, the house looks very nicely decorated. The common living room was very beautiful with big windows and a big deck to admire the amazing scenery. The room was confortable and clean and the breakfast was very good. The heating worked well and we had good hot water. There was also a sauna and a jacuzzi, unfortunately we did not get a chance to use them as we arrived late in the evening, but they looked clean. One small suggestion would be to have a smart TV instead of a non-smart TV, but this is nitpicking compared to what the cabin has to offer.

The house is very traditionally furnished in keeping with the fishing lodge theme. The owners were very friendly. We enjoyed our one night stay. Everything was clean and cozy. There is also a hot tub and a living room where you can relax.

“Quiet Location and Cozy Room”
Self check-in and check-out process was easy and there was ample of parking space. Note: go straight to main building, enter through a frosted glass door with fish on it and look for room with your name pasted on the door. Although the room was a little old but we slept comfortably throughout the night. It was well heated too. There was a water kettle in common dining hall if you need one. Breakfast was self-serviced and the ingredients were in the kitchen.

This place is very special in many ways. The rooms are clean, each with their own bathroom, there‘s a sauna, which we did not use and a hot pot, which we also did not use, available. A very nice breakfast was offered, which included eggs, bread, jam, cheese and ham. The common room is very cozy, but if you are not a fan of hunting trophies, you should probably not spend too much time there.
