“Charming accomodation in a peaceful forest and lake location.”

The location was really nice and peaceful with views over the lake and a substantial balcony out front. I was upgraded to a larger cabin which was very nice of my host. He also provided bread rolls and free coffee which was also very welcome.

It was amasing!! The most interesting camp we have evere visited. The owner is a wisard with his hands. Everything was made with love and care.

Extremely friendly host, we didn’t expect fresh made bread complimentary. Tea coffee sparkling water all complimentary. Lots of activities for children, a beautiful forest behind to explore. Lots of outdoor games- extremely recommended if you just want to have quality family time together.

We bought our breakfest from the shop to the nearest village (6km) and make it ourselves - there was a cood small kitchen on the cottage. Places atmosphere was just straight from 1970 and hippie -time. That was amazing and it makes me smile everymoment! It was only one hour from the Umeå hamn - that was perfect and quiet place to sleep before going to the ship. There was good blackout curtains on the cottage. There was love and peace and rock’n’roll

“Simple but great accommodation”

Very friendly staff, beautiful location, humouristic little notes to read here and there and fun activities for the kids. We normally stay at a hotel in Umeå when passing by on a yearly roadtrip to the north, but wanted to try something different this year. This turned out to be great for the whole family.

“A small slice of paradise in the North!”

We selected Tallbacken Fritidsby based largely on its high review score, and were expecting that score to be perhaps a smidge inflated. How could a simple stuga warrant such great reviews, we wondered? And now we know: just about everything about our stay here was absolutely wonderful! The stuga was incredibly comfortable, well-designed, clean, and sported all the amenities we could wish for. The holiday park it is situated in is amazing, situated on the edge of the forest near a beautiful private lake. The owner was one of the friendliest, coolest people you could hope to meet, and to top it all off, actively encouraged us to use the plethora of amenities like the boats, sports equipment and games strewn around the site. As for the site itself: about twenty years ago I visited a hippie commune in northern California. This strongly reminded me of that place: from the beautifully restored VW beetle parked to the side, to wonderfully painted bird houses, the fireplaces build out of repurposed parts, the "stress-free zone", or the improvised bathtub-jacuzzi: just build your own fire underneath! You get the feeling that someone really loves this place, and while it was very quiet when we were there, I can only imagine how lively it must get at its peak!
