“Fantastic!”
- Wonderful and caring host - Beautiful decorations and antiques inside the cottage. - Warm and comfortable bedrooms as well as beautiful bathrooms. - I loved the gardens. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful layout where you can sit quietly and read all day. - Grateful for eggs, fresh bread, cereals, milk and juice. Very kind of the host. - Clear instructions on how to get there and also various instructions on the heating, lights, kitchen, bins etc. Very informative.

“Beautiful setting close to Bowral”
Lovely cosy stable accomodation which is perfect for the Southern Highlands. The beds are comfortable, the bath and shower and great, and the provided breakfast was very welcome. The crowning glory is the gardens, with numerous beautiful spots to sit and read or have a cup of tea. Highly recommended.

“Loved the 'Stable' and the 6 acre garden.”
The breakfast provided was excellent, even fresh eggs in fridge. Lots of interesting paintings and photos and utensils of yesteryear. We felt like we had walked into another era, beautifully presented.

Southdown Stable is a perfectly renovated old building that has been beautifully furnished inside. The heritage feel is very different to what we normally experience in modern suburbia. The gardens are superb.

“Nice stay”
Very close to Bowral’s main street, only a few minutes drive to restaurants clothing stores and grocery shops. The place is well equiped to suit different needs for the stay. Geothermal heating is definitely a plus. A great place if you love to stay somewhere historical, rustic and with a large well maintained garden.

“Our stay was a let down - we were very disappointed.”
Breakfast was very disappointing and certainly poor. Half full small containers of muesli and cornflakes, eggs and bread, jam and butter, milk and watery orange juice from cartons. No frypan to cook scrambled eggs, no fruit, bacon or fresh food - options were eggs eggs or eggs on toast. Not the breakfast we expected when told we would get a breakfast basket and paid over $ 900 for 2 people for 2 nights
