“Superb combination of accomodation, host and location.”
This is outstanding accomodation, size, quality,facilities and location. We travel often and can say this is one of the best, if not the best, we have stayed in . Paula is fantastic , both as a host but also as a charming person happy to chat ( in good English ) and give helpfull tips. Bourtange is a unique historic star fort and the property is located in the village within it. The museum and associated buildings have exceptional displays. Walking about or taking a morning stroll on the ramparts is such a peasure there being virtually no traffic . We will teturn for sure. John

“Perfect. Een warme ontvangst is het eerste dat beklijft.”
We stayed at this centrally located, charming, stand-alone cottage in mid May. Tastefully decorated, it is cozy and comfortable inside and the secluded garden was blooming with flowers. The well appointed sleeping loft is at the top of a spiral staircase. The stairs have motion activated lights, so they can be navigated at night. The hosts, Paula and Marcel, who live next door, were attentive and welcoming. Paula served us a truly sumptuous breakfast at our cottage table, (as well as a late lunch the day we arrived). This is a perfect place to stay in any season, when exploring the area.

“Fabulous!”
Comfortable little cottage which is beautifully decorated in the idyllic setting of Bourtange. It is detached with it's own lovely outside area. We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer. We regret not ordering the breakfast as there were limited options in the village.
