The two (large) room apartment with a super big walk in shower was fantastic and the kitchen was really well equipped. All the windows had mosquito screens fitted and even on hot nights we just opened them and never had to use the fan which Viviane supplied. The breeze was great. When we expressed an interest in visiting a Château, Gerard arranged it and even accompanied us. The village of Bourg sur Girond is a mile away and has the best Carrefour I have ever seen as well as a lovely Sunday market, only beaten by the fantastic one in Blaye. The internet is the fastest we have experienced on this trip.

kindest hospitality, we have seen in europe. house is beautifully renovated and decorated with high standard technical equipment. located in a peaceful area to provide good sleep. in the walking distance to Bourg village and very close to several nice chateaus for wine tasting.

The apartment was lovely, really clean, incredibly chic, stylish and comfortable. It was perfect for our family and 2 kids (pre teen + older teen). The beds were comfortable, even the sofa bed. There were plenty of games to play in the apartment, a soccer ball for games in the garden and we loved the darts board.! The nearby village, Bourg sur Gironde, was a short drive /walk/bike ride away, was a beautiful historical town with a great Sundy market and had some lovely places to eat including the best boulangerie in France! Vivien and Gerald were lovely hosts and we had a really lovely time there.

Perfect setting in a beautiful tranquil place. Our two bedroom Villa was very comfortable with all the facilities we needed. Great Central place to tour the Bordeaux region. Wonderful hosts, Vivien is exceptional and was very thoughtful. Upon two occasions bringing us juicy Cherries she had just picked and hand cutting her own beautiful roses from Vila Bacchus and offering them for my Birthday. Quite exceptional. I would highly recommend staying here for the beautiful area and for touring plus being looked after by a lovely couple.

The apartment was beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything you would need for a few days or longer, including fully equipped kitchen, and parking. The location was excellent for visiting the local wine regions and artisans. The owners were extremely hospitable. will be recommending Villa Bacchus to our family and friends.

Marion and husband are so accommodating making us feel most welcome on arrival. Villa Bacchus is a wonderful attractive rural property on the outskirts of Bourg-sur-Gironde opposite the Dordogne River. The modern apartment is part of the original 200 year old mansion and is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The apartment is very well equipped with virtually every possible amenity. Easy private access to apartment, spacious living kitchen area, well equiped kitchen. Decorations tasteful and interesting. This is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. The hosts were charming and we delighted to have a tour of their cave and share a drink after. We highly recommend and hope to return one day.

For us it was great discovery of a very charming place, going to sleep and wake up with a nice view of the Gironde river.

I loved the location it was so quiet and peaceful away from the hustle and bustle of the city with views of the Dordogne river, you could watch the sunrise and sunset from the large front garden or by the river, the scenery was beautiful, the accommodation was lovely, modern and cozy with everything you need, situated off the main villa so although attached was completely separate with its own entrance, conveniently located just 40 minutes drive from the centre of Bordeaux and close to local villages, supermarket and towns, our hosts Gerard and Vivien were so lovely, kind and thoughtful, very welcoming and although we couldn’t speak French (or extremely little) we had fun trying to communicate, they arranged a wine tasting trip for us at a nearby vineyard which was amazing and invited us to join them with a New Year’s Eve tradition of drinks and lighting a lantern to bring blessings and good luck for the forthcoming year, we felt honoured and privileged! Gerard was happy to show us around the amazing cave system that was in the back garden only discovered a few years after they first moved it, was used as a wine cellar but now home to really sweet local wildlife in the form of bats, being animal lovers we were in our element, I would highly recommend staying here if you want to get away, our stay was during the Christmas and new year break, the weather was warmer than the UK and we even had a Christmas tree made for us from the garden with fairy lights to enjoy during our stay 😊
