“Wonderful!”

Our stay in Le Domaine des Platanes exceeded our expectations. Karin and Justin are wonderful hosts who gave us a warm welcome and lots of great suggestions for a things to do in the area. They offered to use their bikes and we made a lovely tour along the river and on the way visited some nice villages and churches. Breakfast (in the lovely garden if the weather permits ) was wonderful with fresh fruit, homemade yoghurt and jams. The room was spacious and the location is so peaceful that I never wanted to leave. We’ll certainly come back

Justin and Karin were welcoming, friendly and informative hosts. The location was quiet and there was a wonderful small of newly cut lavender from the delightful garden. The pool looked superb but sadly we didn't have time to use it. The room was big and so was the bathroom and were off a fantastic communal guest living area with kitchen facilities. Justin and Karin asked if we wanted to be included in the evening diner that was being prepared for other guests to which we were pleased to accept. All home made and at a very reasonable additional cost as well as some local wine. Breakfast was good too with many homemade treats like fresh fruit salad, museli and jams. Good parking was available.

We had a lovey spacious room with equally large bathroom with bath and shower. The dining area is beautifully furnished and has underfloor heating a a welcoming log fire. Our hosts were most hospitable and the breakfast is delicious, with homemade muesli, yogurt and fresh fruit salad. It’s 8kms from Cognac and a 5 minute walk to a Michelin starred restaurant which also has a Bistro run by same chef. Both haute cuisine. There is a walking/cycling path right outside the property that follows the river Charente. Charming sums it up

Location and buildings were stunning, set next to a beautiful river. Karin and Justin are exceptional hosts, always extremely helpful and accommodating and a pleasure to talk to. To top it off the breakfast was delicious. Cannot rate Le Domaine Des Plantanes highly enough.

“Fabulous stay with lovely hosts”

I stayed for two nights in Karin and Justin’s property whilst attending a friend’s wedding in Jarnac, and I only regret that I couldn’t stay longer. Justin and Karin were the kindest, most hospitable hosts and the property itself is beautiful. It was so lovely to have breakfast outside surrounded by lavender. I was sad not to get the chance to use their pool as I was a bit non stop with wedding activities. The room was lovely, clean and spacious with a comfortable bed, and everything was spotless. Thank you both for a fabulous stay - I hope to be able to come back one day and make the most of the property and surrounding area!

Beautiful, peaceful location. Lovely private grounds. Heated pool. Large room with comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Very welcoming hosts.

Incredibly courteous and attentive hosts, excellent facilities with plenty of space and a gorgeous location on the bank of the river. We stayed for two days, in which we swam in the river, did a Cognac tour, walked the Charente and ate plenty of incredible food. Only regret is we had to leave!

The accomodation was beautiful! The hosts were really welcoming and helpful. We had a delicious breakfast in the garden. Can’t fault it and would love to come back! I was worried about the lack of air conditioning at time of booking but actually the accomodation was lovely and cool and we didn’t even need the fan provided.

Exceptional stay in every way! The house, gardens and hosts are all amazing and it's such a wonderful setting next to the river. Karin and Justin are so kind and helpful. The rooms are beautiful with very comfy beds and a lovely calming atmosphere. You really couldn't wish for anything more. We hope to come back one day for longer!

A bucolic setting on the banks of the Charente. A perfect overnight stop for cyclists on the Flow Vélo. Karin & Justin are charming hosts and clearly love sharing their beautiful home and garden with their guests. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of homemade touches. Tables were set up in different areas of the garden allowing guests to start their day peacefully, which we appreciated. We also enjoyed our dinner at the bistro next door. To be recommended.

The location was perfect we visited the Cognac region to sample the local produce at Courvoisier & Remy Martin It was very interesting how the Cognac was made Breakfast was lovely, we sat outside and enjoyed the sun
