It was a stop on walking Via Francigena. It was raining when we arrived and we had a very warm wellcoming. They helped us with our wet shoes and clothes. We had a simple but very tasty dinner. And excellent breakfast. So it was a short but very nice experience

This was a comfortable and spacious gite with a warm and thoughtful welcome from Magali! She had thought of everything. She provided a perfect example of a typical delicious French breakfast.

I can only confirm what people have said before: the label 'luxury suite' is wrong, this is a full blown apartment with separate bedroom, bathroom, toilet, kitchenette, 2 terraces, closed parking space. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast will serve you well for a whole day of walking or biking, you even get bags to take the leftovers with you. Whenever we want to go back to this beautiful region, this will be the first place I check to see if it is available.

I stayed at Escapade de Vauclair whilst walking the Via Francigena, for which it is conveniently situated. I enjoyed a warn welcome and a relaxing stay in this modern, comfortable apartment . The breakfast was excellent. I cannot recommend it too highly!

Fabulous apartment with excellent facilities. Breakfast great - the owners even travelled 17 kms to get me some bread as I asked for toast the previous evening! Hosts extremely accommodating, welcoming and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer! We were able to park our motorbikes in their secure drive.

The property is absolutely Amazing - spacious, clean, modern and quiet. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming - as there are no dining places nearby, hosts suggested to prepare evening meal at it was stunningly delicious, right from the kitchen, accompanied with glass of wine. What was very important for us - the host speaks perfect English, making stay a lot more easier for those who speak French poorly. I am also extremely grateful for the advices host provided on visiting nearby sites, and even accompanying to one of them, making it easier to find. There is beautiful backyard at the property, which, I believe, is a wonderful place to spend evening in a cheer, if it not rains. Which unfortunately happened during our stay and that was a single inconvenience 🙂

We were two tired and hungry pilgrims on the Via Francigena who arrived without food due to another French public holiday in May and a lack of shops in the area. We also had difficulty finding accommodation and Bouconville-Vauclair is not on the designated route. The hostess, Magali, was simply outstanding. She offered to prepare us an evening meal – which was magnificent, and this was followed with a superb breakfast the next morning. The accommodation can more correctly described as a newly constructed self-contained unit with all amenities you require. Magali turned our brief stay into one of the highlights of our entire walk.
