The room was really comfortable, and the hotel is surrounded by lots of food places and mini marts, so it was super easy to find food just by walking around Other than that, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Keep up the good service 👍

We went to Magelang for our honeymoon trip. The room was clean and they made sure that it smells nice. The atmosphere was all warm and lovely.

The location is great, quite close to Borobudur Temple, lots of food nearby. The staff were nice and helpful. The room provided everything we needed for our short stay: clean and cool room, comfortable bed and pillow, clean bathroom and toilet. The villa we booked was right next to the swimming pool, which was very convenient. The pool was fantastic, very good size that allowed for serious lap swimming, not just for having fun. Breakfast was decent, the omelette was good.

- amazing& supportive staff - amazing, clean, available 24h swimming pool - great breakfast - proximity of streetfood (strongly recommend place SeaFood Borobudur - Ladies are serving amazing food, and they are really nice). Please keep in mind that Indonesia is mostly muslim country, so may happen that if you’re light sleeper, than Muezzin will wake you up at 4:30AM with calling for prayers Entrance to Borobudur temple has been moved some years ago, and it’s around 2kms away from hotel, not 400m as maps shows

Comfortable place not far from the Temple grounds, you do need a Taxi to the main entrance though as it's around 2k. Lots of restaurants nearby. Big Pool, Clean rooms, nice staff. Would recommend

The room, cleanliness, ambience, bed, water heater. Everything is well function. Also the pool. Breakfast was ala carte but the quality is excellent

“A little paradise with a big-hearted staff”

We stayed at Shankara Hotel with our family and it truly felt like a little piece of paradise! Just 10 minutes walking from Borobudur temple! Our bungalow was lovely, cozy, and well-equipped, with a small pond full of fish that delighted our children. The view over the pool was perfect, and the separate shallow water area made it an ideal and safe space for our little ones to play and have fun. But what truly makes this place unforgettable is the incredible staff. During our stay, we went through a difficult time due to a hospital emergency, and the support we received was simply exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Ayi, Calandra, all the receptionists, and the entire team for taking such wonderful care of me and my daughters during such a delicate moment. Their kindness, empathy, and attention went far beyond what we could have hoped for. Every morning we were welcomed with a rich, varied, and delicious breakfast, the perfect way to start each day with a smile. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Shankara, for making us feel so welcomed, supported, and cared for — just like family. We will definitely be back!

Staff were so happy and helpful, and constant smiles were a joy to see. Food is very good and traditional. Rooms and pool were perfect. (Bathrooms maby a little tired but I can't complain). Lovely frog chorus with a beer in the pagoda ends the night perfectly.

The location is good, walkable to Borobudur. On general it is a OK stay if you want to visit Borobudur.

“Good value for money, top location”

Close to the temple, great kids toys area we did not know about and a large pool! Lots of towels was a small bonus. Grab also works for ordering food. The Nasi Goreng was great and the shower pressure was epic!
