The best homestay I have ever stayed in, ever!! Really special time at Efata Homestay, despite it being a short 1 night, it will definitely be the most memorable. From the very start I was greeted with big smiles and was made to feel at home instantly. The homestay and garden itself were immaculate - really well maintained and looked after. The room was extremely comfortable and had everything you needed. Ika was extremely helpful and brought me around on his scooter to a few places - I got the opportunity to see his friends places - coconut sugar making, batik making where I was able to learn the process of the traditional wax-resist dyeing technique and create my own pattern to keep as a souvenir. I also visited some temples with Ika the following day after my sunrise Borobudur tour (which Ika woke up before 4am to drive me to drive it being a short walk!) Yani was a superb host and made sure i didn’t go hungry - I was greeted with a welcome drink and even though I did get breakfast at my temple tour, Yani prepared some Indonesian snacks for me and tea before my bus back to Yogyakarta. Truly an unforgettable experience which I am extremely thankful for. Thank you to you both!

“The best homestay”

My stay at Efata Homestay was truly awesome, made even more special by Ika and Yani, who went out of their way to help me. Ika, in particular, took me on his motorbike to the Chicken Church and Borobudur Temple. On my last morning, he took me to the bus station and even helped me book a ticket back to Malioboro when it wasn’t entirely clear if there was an early morning service. They also made a fantastic local Javanese breakfast each morning. Super clean room, with nice touches such as extra blankets. Such a nice family. And a great location as well Don’t hesitate, just book.

- Ika and Iani are lovely smily extremely helpful hosts. They know a lot about Borobudur and about the surroundings. It is a pleasure to hear the explanations. - Located on a side street, the house has a small garden and you can sit outside your room and relax. - The bed is very comfortable and the AC quiet - You are in walking distance (about 10 min) to the bus station. And it takes about 5 min to walk to the sunrise entrance for the visit of Borobudur.

Thr owner have had excellent service and whole heartly. The tourist should feel homy and well informed about the environment. The homestay is really homy with lush , greenery and kampong atmosphere. Just walk a few minutes to Candi Borobudur. A plenty good food are around walking distance.

Lovely homestay, Ika and Yani are great hosts. Ika was kind enough to drop me off at the Borobudur entrance, as well as the bus stop. The place was immaculate, and the breakfast delicious (including a memorable soto ayam). protip: if coming from yogyakarta, for 20K IDR the sinar jaya shuttle picks up from malioboro and drops off 10min walk away from the homestay . thank you Ika & Yani!!

A fantastic accommodation with lovely people. I couldn't have imagined a better start to my time in Java. Ika and Yani make every effort to ensure an authentic and enjoyable stay, a true homestay! Borobudur Temple is a 10-minute walk away. Cycling through Borobudur is a lot of fun, and airport transfers or onward to Yogyakarta are super convenient! I wish them both all the best.

The owner is very kind, they give us an extra bed because the owner understands that we bring the kids.

Super friendly couple Ika and Yani were very warm, welcoming and helpful but also very relaxed and unobtrusive. Great insights into life in the area. Room simple but very clean and comfy bed. Great value for money. Free use of bikes was awesome and a great way to explore the area. Would highly recommend staying there.

The room is spacious and spotless, breakfast is delicious, and the value for money — and location — is unbeatable. Mr. Ika kindly offered to take me around to a few other places near the temple to make the most of my short visit to Borobudur. Such a thoughtful gesture. I 100% recommend staying with these people who clearly have a passion for hospitality.

“Fantastic Homestay close to the Temple”

This is a lovely homestay close to the Borobudur Temple (less than 10 mins to the gate). The host family lives there and are the most wonderful people. This property's location is amazing - restaurants, cafes, grocery stores are all less than 5 min walk from their house. They really went out of their way to make me comfortable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to both solo travelers as well as couples visiting the temple.

This homestay is super cozy! The owners, Ika and his wife, are really kind and will help with anything you need. The location is perfect—it’s like staying in a garden, and having afternoon tea in the yard is so relaxing. It’s close to Borobudur Temple,the main road is only a dozen meters away，and you’ll find lots of restaurants if you turn left outside, a convenience store if you turn right, and a supermarket right across the street. I’d suggest staying here a few extra days—the area is quiet and beautiful, with other temples and scenic spots nearby to explore. Such a lovely place to unwind!

Before I visit, I add the host WA. He gave me a lot of help and very kindly. The location is good and also room is good. The host can speak good English and also tried to give us a lot help if he could. We really enjoy to stay in their house and hope will visit next time.

“Beautifully accommodation”

The accommodation is very nice. For me , the best accommodation in Java. The owner and his wife are amazing. They have a map prepared for you, as well as a list of places to visit nearby and where to eat. They are willing to explain everything to you and even lend you bikes. I must especially appreciate that they were helpful in our more complicated situation. Nothing was a problem. I would come back here right away. The breakfast was excellent. They also described what it consisted of for us
