Overview
House of Tohyang is a traditional Hanok, Korean traditional residential architecture, dating back to 1876. The house is set in Bongwha, 1.3 km from Bonghwa Station. It boasts a Korean garden with traditional Korean swings and seesaws. Each room at Tohyang House features hardwood Ondol, Korean heated flooring, and futon mats. All rooms have views of the garden. Selected rooms come with a private bathroom fitted with shower facilities. Guests can enjoy Korean breakfast each morning at Tohyang House. From House of Tohyang, Buseoksa Temple and Chuseoksa Temple are each within a 30-minute drive. Sosuseowon Confucian School and Seonbichon Village are a 35-minute drive away.

Quite late check in from 4pm and then told checkout was 9am despite the booking and signs at the property stating 11am. There is not much in the area, so you will definitely need a car.

Beautiful authentic house; we had excellent BBQ and later hotpot in the town. Lovely small breakfast: fruit and a dumpling. Wonderful family experience

A beautiful location. It´s a very old charming house in a small village. It´s like history came alive. The owners are super friendly and flexible. I have travelled a lot and this was one of the nicer places I´ve ever been.

“Great experience in traditional hanok”
Overall, the place was very charming. The hanok is in calm village near bigger city. We were greeted by the wonderful owner. The room is cosy, and there was everything we needed. The bathroom is added to the original part of hanok. We also got breakfast - two dumplings and apple. The parking is available near to the buildings. You leave your car in the open air without a fence.

“highly recommend - would be happy to stay again”
We loved our stay in Tohyang House. The host is super friendly and brought us delicious mandu for breakfast :) We traveled with friends in a group of four (two couples) and stayed in a house with two sleeping rooms and bathrooms. We are very happy that we stayed in this Korean Hanok with beautiful gardens ! It is a quiet environment (you can hear nature), which we really enjoyed after a week in the buzzing city of Seoul. With a car you can discover some of the beautiful hiking trails in the broader area.

good location.it located in near 영주, close to 부석사, 소수서원 by car. fantastic view through a door from room. amazing a garden. a warm room is really comfortable amd make us relax, strong recommended
