Stunning location in the jungle with a gorgeous room and tree-house style observation deck. Host was helpful in arranging taxi pickup from Bocas town. Restaurant and service was mostly great.

Our stay at the Hummingbird was perfect, Gary and Betsy were great hosts. The room was big, clean, comfortable and set in the gardens with nature all around, which we could enjoy from our decking area. The Hummingbird is situated out of town in a beautiful and quiet location with direct access to the beach and able to hear the relaxing sound of waves breaking from our room. A different high quality breakfast on offer everyday, served by a friendly and attentive team.

This is a family-run eco-hotel located on a beautiful and romantic beach. Before the trip, I looked at many hotels and reviews and was prepared for the fact that the road to the hotel (about 15 minutes) was quite challenging, and swimming on the beach was not recommended. But we really wanted a secluded island experience surrounded by nature. And our expectations were more than met! Listening to the sound of the surf and birdsong, watching hummingbirds having breakfast, and sometimes seeing a sloth in the evening – it was magnificent! Transportation was easy; the hosts sent a trusted taxi driver directly to the airport, who then drove us around the island. Finally, for a change, we rented a small jeep for a trip to the gorgeous beaches on the other side of the island. The dinners at the hotel were excellent! And most importantly, the hosts were incredibly welcoming! It felt like visiting close relatives who really missed you! Thank you so much for the wonderful atmosphere at your hotel!

“A casual but luxurious stay between the beach and rainforest.”

The accommodation is on the track from town to the gardens of the Bocas island, set between the beach and the rain forest. This means lots of bird sounds in the morning, hummingbirds and the occasional howler monkey call and Sloths nearby. Despite this isolation the bedrooms/bathrooms are luxurious, the pool a good size and the food at the casual restaurant excellent.

Great location in a jungle setting a few yards from Bluff beach. Very comfortable bed, lovely rooms. Delicious food. Lovely staff. Enough beds and umbrellas for all guests by the pool.

Right on the biggest beach of Bocas del torro! The garden was amazing, like paradise! Our room (Bamboo) was super clean (both the room and bathroom), clean towels,bedsheets. Breakfast was very good, with fresh fruits every morning. They have a nice pool as well. Wild fauna watched from your own room terrace was amazing!

I adored the location as you are by the beach and half in the jungle. It is just perfect. Betsy was a fabulous host and all the staff, Olivia, Arnaud and everyone else were also super attentive and accommodating.
