This is the first place in my life where I could truly and completely disconnect. We live a very fast-paced life, but for the first time here, I felt like I didn't care at all about what was happening back home. This place is simply magical: the accommodation itself, the surrounding jungle, and the wonderful wildlife exceed all expectations. However, what impressed me the most was the amazing staff. The service, the food, and every little detail ensure that guests get the absolute best jungle experience and relax to the fullest. Seriously, every single member of the staff is fantastic! Everyone has their own specific role, which they perform perfectly, with incredible love and dedication. I had one of the most defining experiences of my life thanks to them. Hats off to them, they have all my respect, because without their hard work and passion, this place wouldn't be as special and magical as it is.

This haven is a sanctuary of subtle calm to the point of divinity. Far from the stereotypes of cheap Latin music and background noise. This is a jungle retreat with comfort and high end food. The staff is welcoming and well organised. The owner was present and extremely affable and the yoga in the morning was challenging (for me) but highly beneficial and taught by a wonderful teacher.

Location, food and jungle experience. Nothing was too much and we felt safe and comfortable in our jungle lodge! All the little touches make it a WOW holiday!

This place is an absolute gem. We loved staying in our wooden cabin tucked in the middle of the jungle — such a unique and special experience. The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout our stay. We especially loved the cacao tour and observing the sloths right outside of our cabin. If you enjoy discovering unique places, you definitely shouldn’t miss La Loma.

Fabulous location accessible only by boat - so you feel away from it all although only 30 mins from Bocas town Rooms open to the jungle but super comfy bed and hot showers The best food of our holiday - EVERY meal. Much grown on site - full of variety and flavour Welcoming staff with shout outs to Nicolas and Roger the guide. Being mesmorised by the humming birds at the main lodge. Kayaking and watching sloths and white faced monkeys.

“Unforgettable experience!”

Staying at La Loma is a completely unique experience! The property is nestled away in the rainforest and only accessible by boat which picks you up free of charge. The grounds are extensive and filled with wildlife which was one of the best parts of our stay! We stayed in a King Treehouse, which had a view of the rainforest canopy. The bed was comfortable and the room was furnished with a table and chair set as well as two hammocks. The mosquito net didn’t quite keep out all of the insects - but you are out in the middle of the jungle with no walls, so we were expecting this! The staff were wonderful, and the meals we were given were so delicious and all with home-grown ingredients. One of the best parts of our stay was learning about the permaculture farm where they grow all of the vegetables and fruit that are then cooked in the daily meals. It was really interesting and also very impressive in terms of their strive for sustainability. They offer lots of interesting tours, we did the bat cave tour which was really fun! If we come to Bocas Del Toro again, we would definitely stay!

“Impossible to describe in one sentence only!”

Staying at La Loma Lodge was nothing short of magical. The lodge is beautifully tucked away in the rainforest, surrounded by vibrant wildlife and the serene sounds of nature. The accommodation was stunning — open-air, thoughtfully designed, and deeply connected to the environment. Every detail feels intentional, from the comfortable beds to breathtaking views of the forest, to having privacy from other rooms, to having two hammocks, to toilet paper holders ;). It’s the perfect balance of charm and comfort. The food and drinks deserve their own spotlight. Most ingredients are grown right on the property (even the pepper on the table and hot sauce are so), and every meal (and also the non-alcoholic drinks) is fresh and absolutely delicious. Dining at La Loma is more than a meal — it’s an experience and you’ve even got the best view of the bay ever from the restaurant. But what truly makes La Loma exceptional is the people. The hosts and staff are welcoming, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and chocolate farm. Their care for sustainability and respect for the environment shines through in everything they do. From hiking through the cacao farm and learning about chocolate-making to trying different local fruits and spotting sloths right from the restaurant, every moment was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a place that’s more than just a stay — a place that connects you with nature and leaves you feeling inspired — La Loma Lodge is it. Without a doubt, one of the most remarkable travel experiences we’ve ever had. Make sure you stay a bit longer than we did, one night was definitely not enough.

“Beautiful rainforest experience”

La Loma was a magical experience. The location, the views, the jungle, the food… I was visited by monkeys, sloths, tropical birds, armadillos, frogs, bats… I woke one night to see a sloth silhouetted by the moonlight. The room was dreamlike and the tropical rain and frog chorus provided the perfect backdrop. Big thanks to Juan Carlos for being a great host, and to the lovely yoga instructor (I’m so sorry I can’t remember your name!). The food was delicious, and I thought it was a nice touch to offer packed lunches for day trips! Thanks for a great, memorable week. I felt like I *was* the Rainforest Queen.

It is a cool remote location, where you can really switch off and enjoy the jungle. The food was great and the service exceptional! The greatest part was a sloth that enjoyed his time super close to the main lodge. We also really enjoyed the farm tour and could try a lot of the organic produce.

You can see monkeys and sloths around the hotel. The views from the bed are amazing. Super clean. Amazing food. Great staff. Extremely comfortable bed.

“Treetop paradise”

The staff were fabulous, the setting was beautiful but the showstopper was the food. Some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten and able to cater for dietary requirements (gluten free) really well so I didn’t miss out on the experience. The table was also so beautifully set for each meal - we really enjoyed our experience there.
