Location was very good, not too noisy

Nice chill hostel with shared kitchen. Nice to sit on the dock and enjoy the view. Better value than many other accommodations on the water.

The laid back vibe of Old Bank, we absolutely loved everything about it. The pina coladas at happy hour were the best we’ve ever had, the hammocks on the deck were fantastic. The staff were v friendly and helpful. It was incredibly good value for money. The rooms are small, the next time I’d definitely book a twin room perhaps with air con but tbh the fan was really efficient and kept us cool. I’ll definitely go again and sooo pleased I booked to stay on Isla Bastnejtos - it perfect in every way and we loved the friendly, kind locals, the great easy walk through the jungle to Wizard beach and Red frog beach, and the reasonable excursions that we did through the hostel ❤️

“Great place with deck overlooking the sea”

Great place! The deck over the sea was lovely, fresh and comfortable. One of the best things of my stay was self-made breakfast on that deck. The room was small but comfortable. Toilet was always clean. Everything was clean. The kitchen fully equipped, the staff super friendly and the piña colada great and cheap. So lucky we found this hostel.

We really liked el jaguar and extended our stay to one week its nice to chill in the hamacs and they will give you good taki boat and rour prices! The kitchen and the rooms are good. Old Banks is a beautiful town, way more authentic and chill than Colon!

The location was beautiful as it was right on the water and the hostel had beautiful hammocks to relax in. Everyone was really friendly too! Highly recommend

“Exactly as described”

Facilities were really good - exactly as described and well kept. Room was small, but fine and fan kept us cool. Bathroom was also small but well maintained and kept clean. Location is quiet and relaxed, the perfect escape from Bocas.

room, hammocks, nice view, near the main boat station on the island, beautiful wooden floor, very relaxing and kind vibe. I would recommend this place to everyone. I think it's perfect both for solo travellers and couples.

“More expensive than the other hostels during my trip but I got a unique Caribbean Island experience.”

The over the water terrace is great. Also, the tiny town in which the hostel is located truely makes you feel like a visitor, contrary to Bocas town which is much more touristy.

Location right on the water was great. It was also only a short walk to the track across the island to Wizard Beach. Room was adequate and the bed comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The stove had good strong gas and good skillets and cooking pots and utensils. Also good to have toasters and blender. The tables out overlooking the water and the hammocks were great.

“Very nice!”

Nice hostel in Bastimentos! The very friendly host who helped me with everything. Feel like a friend <3 The hostel is on the sea and the view was amazing. I had rainy days (I spent them on a hammock, relaxing <3 ) and the humidity in the room was high, but it wasn't the reason for the hostel. Note that you cannot bring your own alcoholic beverages to the hostel, but fortunately they have a bar :D

Loved the view over the ocean and the place on the island. They have tours you can book and a clean kitchen. Great hotel and tasty cocktails :)

Excellent place, the owner of the property and the staff were very helpful in giving us advice. I also rented a kayak to explore the island properly. Already my second stay in El Jaguar

“Liked it a lot”

It’s really a lovely hostel right at (above) the water. My room was really great and felt way bigger than it looks on the photos. The owner and the staff were super friendly. I can recommend the happy hour 🤣

“Brilliant hostel on stilts over the lagoon”

El Jaguar was the first hostel where I have arrived by boat; there are hammocks and loungers near the jetty where you can sit and look out over the lagoon. There's a well organised kitchen with huge fridge freezers and the staff are friendly and helpful.
