Big beds and super comfortable, the location, the staff at breakfast and the team cleaning the rooms were very helpful, professional and kind. They spoke English quite well, and were prompt at solving issues. For instance, I gave the wrong room number at breakfast and was told my booking didn’t include breakfast so I had to pay. It was not a problem on my side, and the cleaning lady with whom I interacted the previous day and who was helping with breakfast that day asked me which room number I had provided… she was actually checking as she remembered my correct room number. End of story, I gave the wrong room number and everything was sorted out at the end. Thank you lady!

When we arrived, we had to pay 50% extra as we were with 2 persons and they said the double room booked was only for 1 person. They did not inform us about this beforehand even though they knew that we were going to stay with 2 persons in the double room we booked.

Great location, very close to the beach and the city center. The breakfast was superb! Everything fresh, big selection. The room and bathroom were clean.

Our experience at this hotel was nothing short of disappointing. The receptionist was extremely rude, disrespectful, and openly discriminatory, especially towards foreign guests. It is truly shameful to encounter such fascist attitudes in a modern European tourist destination like Blankenberge. And it’s not just about the attitude – the physical conditions of the hotel are also far below acceptable standards. The rooms are tiny, dirty, and poorly maintained. Basic cleanliness is lacking, and there is no fridge in the room, which is a serious inconvenience, especially in summer. Even with low expectations for a budget hotel, Hotel Avenue managed to fall short. The receptionist shouted at guests and treated people with no sense of professionalism or basic decency. This behavior damages not only the hotel’s reputation but also that of Blankenberge as a tourist destination. This is clearly not an isolated case – it reflects the hotel’s general attitude, as management seems to tolerate and endorse this unacceptable behavior by keeping this person in charge. When a hotel allows staff to treat guests based on their language, appearance, or background, it becomes a place that is neither welcoming nor safe. We strongly do not recommend this hotel and will also be submitting formal complaints to the relevant tourism authorities.

The location was excellent. We wanted to travel the Coastal Tram which traverses the Belgian Coast, the longest tram route in Europe, we believe. We were not disappointed. The Avenue claims to be a "... a renovated original Art Deco hotel dating from 1932 " That's true, but it is a slightly fading asset as is the "family run" aspect in these straitened times. Staff are pleasant and welcoming, but struggling a little with an ageing building. The breakfast was excellent, but is hosted across the road in a partner hotel.

Was able to put bicycle in locked garage to keep it safe. Location a bit away from the main action on the beach promenade and hence fairly quiet.

Loved this hotel. Good breakfast, comfy bed, spacious room- had a balcony overlooking the street. Close to tram and train. Close to the beach and restaurants. Absolutely lovely staff! Took the train from there to Brugge for the day no problem. Definitely recommend.

My room was very comfortable and clean, and the staff were very friendly. The location was great for visiting Bruges - just 10 minutes by train. It was lovely being somewhere slightly quieter and less touristy! Blankenberge beach was also nice for a wander.
