“Comfortable motel style stay at a historic house”

Rowan Brae in Blackheath is a rambling historic house set in a large garden. Access to our room was via key safe. Our room towards the back of the house was not large, but it was very comfortable and clean. A good range of self-serve breakfast options were available in the small kitchen dining room.

Very comfortable, light, spacious room (room No. 1), with excellent bed. Kitchen well stocked with a multitude of choices for a self serve continental breakfast.

Very comfortable room beautifully appointed, with lovely antique furniture. Bathroom was spacious. Room heating was lovely and warm. Bed was super comfy and bedding and pillows were very plush. Self serve kitchen room was very well stocked and lots of choice including some nice treats for afternoon tea too. Great location and easy level walk into town for dinner and exploring shops. Great restaurants in town; including funky cocktail bar! Parking wasn't an issue for us, and we had a large vehicle. Gardens were lovely. Communication with property was excellent and informative. Location super convenient to viewpoints and walking tracks. Golf course at Blackheath was a challenging and very scenic - played in autumn and was stunning.

Lovely small but very functional breakfast room and kitchenette. We liked that this facilitates social contact with other guests. The building and garden are very pretty. When the door handle/lock of our booked room malfunctioned our host upgraded us to a better room. This second room was utterly charming.

It's a lovely house and v comfortable.

Exceeded expectations - comfortable convenient location and easy access to check in good communication sms and phone contact if needed .wonderful fabulous stocked kitchen with breakfast ingredients all fresh and appetisingly displayed including ready made sandwiches if needed , fruit abd fridge full dairy and fruit juices - quiet , private - sensational!!

Really enjoyed our stay - super comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful courtyard, lovely decorated, attention to details.

Breakfast was well organised.I contacted the property to ask if they had lactose free milk, they made sure there was. Very convenient that you could make tea or coffee, have a snack any time. Staff also helpful about fresh towels, lighter blanket. Great that it was all flat, on one level.

Self serve in shared dining room was great. Provisions were excellent.
