Bruce and Samantha, who run the homestay, are incredibly friendly and genuinely service-oriented. Together with their family, they create a very warm and welcoming atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. This is a true eco homestay, and you can clearly feel the sustainability mindset in every detail. Bruce, with his background in environmental science, puts a lot of care into living and sharing these values. The entire place is well maintained, and the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. What made the stay really special were the personal interactions. They take time for meaningful conversations and give you a real insight into their family life and the local community. You don’t feel like a guest – you feel included. The food was delicious and prepared with a lot of love. I also had the chance to roast my own coffee with Samantha at a nearby place, which was a unique and memorable experience. Through this, I learned a lot about eco-farming, sustainability, and the strong community spirit in the area. Overall, I felt very well taken care of and truly welcomed. I can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful stay.

We had a lovely stay at Kibale eco-home! We were welcomed into the family of Bruce and Samantha, the owners. The meals were really good, the room was very new, clean and comfortable. Bruce, Samantha and the other staff made our stay very memorable as they were so friendly and welcoming. They were keen to hear our experience so they can improve. The gate to Kibale NP for the chimpanzee tracking/habituation is less than 10 min away (by car). We would definitely recommend staying here.

Very clean, very friendly, very good shower

The room was big. The diner was very tasty. The place is very pleasant. Bruce and Samantha were really welcoming and very helpful. They helped us organise a guide to visit the swamp at night and the next morning.

“Great homestay in centric location”

Bruce and his family are very kind and attentive hosts. Communication and check-in were very easy, Bruce also gave us contacts to organise a Birdwatching tour. The place has a nice terrace and you can see many weaver birds there. The room is exactly like on the pictures. The location is ideal for exploring bigodi, just a few minutes walk from the wetland sanctuary and only 10 mins drive to the chimpz trekking. Hot water worked very well.

Samantha Bruce and the rest of the family were so kind and really let us feel very comfortable during our stay. The food is great and the location is very close by the entrance of the Kibale national park to visit the chimpanzees. Therefore we would really recommend staying here!

“Nice place and nice people”

It was a really nice place, wooden furniture, great touches, great atmosphere, comfortable. The family was really nice and very attentive. The breakfast time was completely adapted to your needs, and the same if you asked for added lunch or dinner. It is right on one edge of Bigodi town, in case you need anything.

We had such a lovely stay at Kibale Eco-Home. Bruce and the family where so friendly and did the utmost to make it a pleasant stay for us. Good food and comfortable bed and shower. When we had problems with our car after the check-out, before our chimp-trekking, Bruce made sure we could make it and arranged with our car-rental company that it would be solved. Very greatful for this kind assistance!

“Relaxing haven convenient for chimpanzee trekking”

A relaxing haven a stones throw away from Bigodi wetlands. We were made to feel very welcome by Bruce and his family. Whenever we needed any help - suggestions on activities, booking guides etc there was always someone available to help, but otherwise we were left to our own devices which we really appreciated. Bruce also helped us to book our Chimpanzee trekking permits ahead of our trip which was a massive help. The home cooked food Sabina served was all delicious and lovingly prepared. Our rooms were nicely furnished and very clean, beds comfortable, hot water and mosquito nets. The secure parking was also really handy as we were self driving

“Great find”

This place is fabulous for the independent traveller. There's secure parking for the car, it's just a 3-minute walk to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and it's just off the main street with its shops and markets. Yet, it's quiet and private, and the outdoor sitting area makes you feel you're in the middle of the forest surrounded by birds. The hosts are attentive, friendly and accommodating. You can enjoy lovely and abundant home-cooked meals and warm hospitality. The room had an ensuite bathroom and was spacious and comfortable.

Samantha, Bruce and Sabina made us feel very welcome and as if we were family. They communicated well with us from the start, with arrival times and offering meals at a small charge, catering for dietary preferences. We were offered tea/coffee on arrival, dinner was delicious and filling, as was breakfast - we liked the food so much we came back for lunch after chimp trekking! Location is perfect for chimp trekking (7min by car) and Bigodi for swamp/community walk. Room was large, clean, comfortable bed and private clean bathroom. Secure parking behind a gate. Quiet at night for a peaceful night sleep. Bruce also had great knowledge of surrounding areas and helped us figure out our plan moving onwards. Thank you very much!

Highly recommended, it is close to the Kibale National park which made it easy for us to catch up with our Chimpanzee tracking. The food and breakfast were really good, Bruce and Samantha welcomed us and worked on us very well. They helped keep our stuff safely until we returned from the Chimp Tracking at midday. You can arrange your Bigodi Swamp and Community walk at the location, we worked with Denis during a Bigodi Swamp, he is really knowledgeable and amazing

The host was very kind, we went to see a football match together, I had a good time The food was good and tasty 5 min for reach the park
