Overview
Quietly located in western Iceland’s countryside, this hotel is 2 km from the Grábrók volcano in the Borgarbyggd District. It offers free Wi-Fi, outdoor hot tubs and individually decorated rooms. Each room at Hraunsnef Country Hotel is themed after a Nordic mythology goddess and includes bathrobes with slippers. All have a TV, electric kettle and private bathroom with a shower. Guests can enjoy an à la carte menu at Hraunsnef’s restaurant for dinner, as well as lunch in the summertime. There is also a fireplace on site. Paradise Hollow, the Glanni waterfall and trout fishing in Lake Hredarvatn are all about 5 km away. The Deildartunguhver hot spring is 25 minutes’ drive from the hotel.

“Excellent!”
We booked our room last-minute and were very well received by the hotel staff, who were very welcoming and attentive. The room was much nicer than advertised in the photos, spacious and clean, and the bed was really comfortable. It was particularly lovely to wake up with all the property's sheep and lambs just outside our room!

Very pretty location, they have hot springs in the hotel, but you need to pay extra. The rooms are nice, but on the smaller size for 3 people. Otherwise the staff was nice, so that was a great welcome!

“A fair pitstop on our Ring Road journey !”
Fair living conditions if using the heather inside, by night. We were happy to have a private toilet, shower, and hot water. We've chosen to pay for breakfast, better using our stay time in the location. Take a look on local made cosmetics and hand made stuff, in front of the reception desk.

“👌 Book it when it’s available, do not hesitate!”
It is a place with a very special vibe. The cabin is small, but warm and has all the basics for comfort. The view is spectacular. Roosters were our neighbours, so it was a pleasure to hear them. The parking is very spacious. The facility has other options like restaurant, spa, shot with their own branded products. And there is a farm nearby and another one on the other side of the road. A perfect place for families.

“Good for the one night but the cottage was in dire need of renovation”
Conveniently located just off the N1. Staff were very professional, helpful and accommodating. Excellent buffet breakfast. Food in the restaurant in the evening was also excellent but quite expensive. Cottage had a kitchen and microwave which was handy along with a coffee machine. small TV was a nice touch and also had Netflix on it.

“Clean, Comfortable, and Welcoming”
We really enjoyed our short stay here. We only stayed for one night as a stopover, but everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the accommodation was clean, and we especially appreciated having a coffee machine in the room in the morning. We also loved the chance to relax in the thermal bath.
