“Beyond beautiful environment, authenthic and most lovely and hospital people!”
It was beautiful! You'll get the real authenthic desert vibes even though it's not too far into the desert. Host and everyone who visited the place is beyond kind, hospital and lovely. Dunes are perfect and nearby for sand boarding, I recommend it during sunset or sunrise. We arrived at 6.00 pm (with free pick up and drop off service through desert) and left the next morning around 9 AM to avoid heat in May, everything was just perfect. Food, especially camel meat was delicious and all tasted like real food. Special thanks my welcoming brother and host Said!!!

“A night in the desert”
We drove 2 hours from Masqat for 1 night in tents in the desert. Sounds crazy, right? But what an experience!!! The camp is a bedouin family business with Saïd at the helm. A few days in advance we got the 'menu' for things to do: we opted for a camel ride (external provider), some dune bashing, diner and breakfast at the camp. We asked total cost of bookes activities and received a decent quote on request and paid cash the agreed amount at the end of our stay. No surprises, honest dealings. On arrival we parked the car near the 'entrance' to the dunes, messaged the camel owner who came and picked us up. After the ride, he dropped us off again and a little later Saïd's brother Hamdan picked us up to take us to the camp to drop off our stuff and have some tea or coffee with sweets and dates. Then he took us into the dunes to 'sandsurf' on a 'sandboard' and to do some exhilirating dune bashing. After paying the family camel family a visit for a hug and to pose for a photo opp, we returned to the camp just in time for the beautiful sunset. The camp is situated on the flank of a stunning 'valley' between two large dunes. After sunset stars and planets appear, which Saïd eagerly helps identifying. Two tents were set up, each with sturdy beds and a warm blanket. Yes, it gets cold in the desert at night! Due to the winding down near the start of the hot season, we had the camp mostly to ourselves. The camp is primitive but it does have running water (thanks to tanks and gravity), even showers, and electricity (thanks to a solar panel and a battery). There are plans for future amenities. The diner was excellent and breakfast decent, the conversations and interactions with the family genuine. Because they hadn't seen each other for a while, a bunch of brothers and cousins showed up to share a moment of prayer, some fruit, and tea and coffee in the desert.

“Amazing experience”
An absolutely amazing experience - the place, location, camp, hosts, everything was perfect. We were truly delighted! Thanks to the wonderful hosts, the desert (which is already magical on its own), became even more magical for us. Highly recommended! 🌟

“Stunning camp with great hosts!”
The camp is absolutely wonderful! The hosts will arrange a pick up if you need. At night everyone is stilling together, sharing stories and having a good time. The food is delicious and the tents spacious. There are showers and a common area. You can hike up the sand dunes in the back to get a wonderful view. The camp offers sand dune dashing which is fun but honestly a bit pricey. But if there is more people you can share the costs. I can highly recommend staying here :)

“Wonderful desert camp”
A small camp in desert, meaning a good sized group of guests. The staff were amazing, really attentive and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. And it was so nice to spend an evening under the stars around a campfire.

“Highly Recommend”
Said was a wonderful host. Seeing the sunset and sunrise out on the dunes was beautiful. The homemade food was delicious and beds comfy. There was also a free transfer from Al Wasil if (like us) you were in a 2wd. Communication via booking/WhatsApp was easy. The baby camel was also adorable.

We spent a wonderful night in the desert and highly recommend the experience. We were able to reach the camp with our own 4x4 vehicle, following the host’s brother. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, and the host himself was equally wonderful — we had a very pleasant conversation with him.

the whole experience at this camp was so amazing! The hosts were the friendliest people, so hospitable, sharing food, snacks and tea with us and ensuring we had the best possible desert stay. The tent was clean and comfortable and the bathrooms were great! The scenery of the dunes was beautiful. Would recommend to everyone!!

Beautiful view and amazing dune bashing experience. Owner of camp very communicative on WhatsApp and made it easy for pickup as we only had a 2wd car. The dune bashing is a must do, watching the sunset across the desert was incredible. Very hearty sized dinner portions with a good selection of dishes . Feels like a genuine authentic experience.

“Great experience, great hosts”
The hosts were lovely, made us feel welcome, friendly and told us lots of stories to make our stay special. Food was great, variety of options and provided snacks too. Location was great, not a long drive into the desert but also far enough in. The excursion was 10omr each for the dune bashing which included sunset and sandboarding. In the evening we watched the stars, ate and chatted. Toilets were really clean and beds were comfy

“Authentic Bedouin Experience”
If you want a real Bedouin experience rather than a luxury resort, stay here. Authentic hospitality with camels, sandboarding, and stargazing. Great bonfire and social vibe in the evening. The tents and bedding were very clean. The food was delicious with plenty of variety. Facilities are basic (as expected in the desert), but clean. The camp is 5 minutes drive from the village. We followed the host in our own 2WD rental car and it was no problem, but they also offer a free transfer!

“Good hosting and nice tents”
The kindness of the hosts. The location is nice despite being close to the main road. The dinner is good but it is not included in the price, costs 6 Omani riyals otherwise.

“Exceptional experience”
Perfect location away from the crowds and the roar of engines. Authentic Omani hospitality and delicious food. Owner Said takes care of every detail of his guests' stay and makes it unforgettable. A million stars at night above the tent for free from nature

I really enjoyed my stay. Said was a great host, sitting down with us, sharing stories and engaging in conversations which was a really nice touch. Good location and small camp so it was perfect for stargazing. Bonus is that they don't charge for pick up and drop off to your car. Highly recommend it.
