“A peaceful desert retreat with exceptional hospitality”

With only a handful of tents, this camp felt very private and peaceful — exactly what I was looking for. There was clear attention to detail everywhere: a giant swing, a beautifully decorated social tent with carpets, pillows, and board games, and thoughtful little touches throughout. Guest were offered complimentary refreshments like coffee with cardamom, dates, and fruits, which added to the authentic experience. I also appreciated that there was absolutely no pressure to book additional activities like camel rides or quad motorcycle riding — everything felt very relaxed. Dinner was absolutely delicious, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. I even asked Rashid to burn some bakhoor during dinner, which created an amazing atmosphere and elevated the whole experience. The tents were spacious and well-equipped, including a proper bathroom with a flushing toilet and shower. I also appreciated not being rushed the next day — I had plenty of time to explore the area at my own pace. I would definitely recommend staying here.

“An unforgettable , soul-soothing desert escape”

Our stay at Rashid’s camp was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a hidden gem. The camp is tucked deep into the dunes, making you feel completely immersed in the desert. You can hardly see any other camps, which creates a genuine sense of peace. The tents are spaced perfectly apart. You get that rare feeling of intimacy and solitude that you go to the desert to find. Everything is beautifully arranged and curated. From the cozy, well-equipped sleeping tents to the stunning common areas, the attention to detail is impressive. The entire camp is incredibly clean, neat, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was fantastic with a great variety of dishes to choose from. And the Hospitality! The heart of this place is Rashid himself. He is an exceptionally hospitable, warm, and positive person who makes you feel at home instantly. His team is equally friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Highly recommended! If you are looking for an authentic yet comfortable desert experience, this is the place to be.

Rashid and the team are super nice and friendly! The meeting point is easy to find, and we drive our 4X4 SUV to follow the staff to the camp. The road to the camp is easy to follow. Rashid made the best coffee and tea that I have ever had in Oman. The dinner and breakfast were so good, above my expectations. We have ridden the camel to see the sunset, which is highly recommended.

We had an amazing nights stay at Rashid’s camp. The kids did some sand boarding and quad biking, we watched the sunset and then had a delicious dinner. The following morning we watched the sun rise over the desert and had a nice breakfast before a camel ride. Rashid’s hospitality was second to none and the tent was very spacious and had everything you needed. We had a fabulous time there. Thank you to Rashid and the team for making our stay so memorable.

“Unique and special”

Very unique and beautiful stay with uninterrupted views of the stunning dunes. Good food provided every night, fun activities (my favourites were camel riding and bikings. The highlight was the view of the sunset. The hosts (esp Rasheed) were warm, friendly and humorous.

“Beautiful, quiet, and wonderful host”

It is very quiet and a calming location. The tents you live in are large and very comfortable, a toilet and shower are included. The views from the camp are amazing, with beautiful sand dunes, night sky, and sunsets/sunrise to see. I highly recommend the food for breakfast and dinner were amazing displays of Oman, and were delicious. The owner Rashid is very kind hearted and accommodating, and even personally took one of us to a clinic when they were injured. All the staff who worked there are also very gentle and helpful, caring for us throughout our stay. There are many activities to do from here, and the owner will help arrange it for you. We’ve traveled to so many places around the world, and this camp was next level. We really enjoyed this experience and can’t wait to come back. Thank you Rashid.

“Atunning luxurious tent in the desert”

Massive tent and the most comfy bed on the trip. Staff were so nice and sociable. Food was really good too

TOP CAMP.Of the eaten track, delicious food, Rachid is an increidible man...heart of gold. The camel ride, the luxury tents, the power banks, the outstanding food,unlimeted water bottles.....you name it. And the Bedouin tent to relax with a cup of tea.....amazing sunsets and sunrises. I can't say more.....no words to describe what a lovely time we had at Rachid's place.

“Incredible memories”

This camp is amazing! All reviews are true, it was a lovely experience. It has just 5 tents (fully furnished, with comfortable beds and private bathrooms) and additional tents for gathering together and eating. Rashid is and incredible host - funny, interesting, caring. Other men working in the camp were very nice and professional too! Food was delicious (one of the best I had in Oman), and activities cool (we took transport as our car was 2W & quad & dune bashing & breakfast and dinner). There are camels, gazelle, as well as a nice swing. Just go there, you won’t regret.

We had the best time at Rashid’s camp! Rashid was so fun and his staff were so nice! We loved chatting with them over mealtimes and getting to spend time out in the dunes. A true desert experience!

“A truly unforgettable desert experience we shared with our two kids”

We spent one night at Rashid Desert Private Camp and felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Rashid personally greeted us warmly, and the entire team was incredibly friendly and spoke excellent English. They were also wonderful with our children (5 and 8 years old). The food was excellent and the range of activities offered was great. In the evening, sitting around the campfire, it was easy to connect with other guests – something we really appreciated about the small and personal atmosphere. As expected in the desert, the tent was a bit cooler at night, but plenty of blankets were provided. We also loved the beautiful sunset and the absolutely stunning sunrise in the desert. A very authentic and warm experience – we will definitely come back. Thank you for everything.

All the staff including Rashid the owner were very welcoming and friendly. We opted for the pick up transportation rather than drive ourselves. This seemed wise given even the car we were chaperoned in got stuck in the sand. We stayed for one night and the food was tasty and plentiful - both at breakfast and dinner. We are very grateful to Rashid for arranging a surprise cake for my wife's birthday. We sat by the fire in the evening and could see lots of stars in the night sky. For activities we did the camel ride at sunset which was great. The camp is nice and secluded and we are very happy we did not stay near the more congested campsites. The beds were also extremely comfortable with ample bedding and blankets.

“Perfect desert experience!”

Rashid’s camp is perfect, well run & very comfortable. Easily meeting point to follow his car through the desert to the camp. Tent’s were extremely comfortable and the food exceptional, the best meal we’ve had since arriving in Oman!

Small 4 tent site in the desert. Surrounded by sand dunes. Awesome experience. Food was good and plenty of it. Large tent which has own toilet and shower. Big , comfy bed. We had a smaller car which we left at the meeting point and used the paid round trip transfer. What a fantastic experience.

Such a friendly welcome! Rashid and his son Ahmed went out of their way to make everyone happy and comfortable. The tent was luxuriously furnished and the sheets were of very fine cotton. Each tent was far enough apart from the others to feel private. The dining pavilion was set up higher than the rest, making it cooler and providing great views. Food was excellent. My tip is to shower in the evening when the water is still warmed by the sun, unless you prefer it icy cold in the morning.

Rashid and his family are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and the tents very spacious and clean. We loved that the camp is not surrounded by other camps.

The camp was great , plenty of activities to do. Rashid is a nice host , the staff working with him make you feel at home. The food was good. Our stay there exceeded the expectations.

Rashid is great, so relaxed and welcoming. It's a good balance of comfort, comfortable beds, good showers but still has a desert camp feel. Some others are made of concrete and lose the sense of being in the desert. Most importantly food was amazing and plenty of it.
