“Super stay in a great location with wonderful staff”

Simple hotel in beautiful grounds, including trees and flowers, right next to the national park boundary with lots of birds to see directly from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was freshly cooked, local and delicious. The owner, Pappu, was so helpful and took me on a walking safari and organised a jeep safari. He also lent me binoculars,bird book and took me out in his motorbike to a great sunset spot and also in the evening to try to see wildlife.

Without doubts, the best place we could stay in Bardiya. Me and my friend went to Bardiya for exploring, we stayed in Pappu Dai place, he is and experienced and passionate guide, we spend there one week. Pappu Dai and his family take care of everything, providing a close service, help for everything we need, best prices for activities, delicious food, warm environment, nice rooms, and unforgettable memories. Definitely, I will go back to meet them and enjoy this amazing place. Close to the jungle you can feel the wildlife around, and his experience helped us to understand everything about the place and the jungle. Thank you Pappu and family, this was honestly one of the best weeks ever!

You become one of the Family at Golden River, I had such a fantastic time here, a wonderful family led by Pappu, Incredible guide, the most delicious food & the best location 😍😍 I saw so many birds just sat on the porch drinking Masala Chai, Recommend to anyone who wants to fulfill their dreams of seeing the wildlife & experience the warmth & hospitality of a great local family, & yes, I saw 3 Tigers amongst so much other wildlife!!!! 😍😍🐯🐯😍😍

I had a great stay at golden river wildste. Pabu is an amazing host and as a guide i wouldn't want anybody else! The room was clean and cozy and the food was delicious.

A beautiful place! The garden is lovely and the rooms look great. We were in the jungle with the owner, Papu, for many days. He is a very skilled guide with excellent English, who doesn't only have a lot of knowledge of the animals and plants, but also cares about safety and the wellbeing of the animals we observed. We were very lucky to even see two tigers on different days with him. I really appreciated his knowledge of birds too. Very happy to have had you as our guide Papu!

I stayed at this accommodation a couple of nights. Pappu and his family were wonderful hosts, they were very attentive and cooked fresh, organic and delicious food! Pappu is also a very special guide: he could spot multiple animals that my eye couldn't see at first, among which even a tiger!!! But also several species of deer (swamp deer 😍), otters, and paradise flycatchers were an amazing sighting and we were lucky enough even to see a rhino! I miss the wonders of Bardiya... Thank you Pappu dai for your hospitality and guidance!!

“A very relaxing stay amidst wildlife and nature, with authentic nepali cuisine.”

We would get freshly prepared local Nepali food which was absolutely delicious! They have a wide selection of authentic local food to choose from. If you're in the right season, you can also get to try some fresh local honey! The location of the homestay is great, it is very close to the entrance of the national park. We had a great stay here, and had some incredible wildlife sightings (Rhinos, elephants, tigers, hornbills) thanks to the sharp eyes of Tek Bahadur (fondly called Pappu). Will definitely come to visit again!
