We truly had an amazing stay at Bardia Eco-Friendly Homestay. The family owning the homestay are really kind people. They only have 4 rooms so they have plenty of time to have a nice chat. The food they cook is almost all grown in their own garden and it is prepared absolutely amazing. I think it is the best food I had in Nepal. We arrived spontaneously at the end of the day and we wanted to do a Safari. Shardul was really helpful in making a plan and arranging everything! ! would 100% recommend you to stay at this place! If I am ever again in Nepal I am sure I would visit this place again.

Amazing Homestay!!!! Felt Like Part of the Family ❤️ Our stay at Bardi Eco-Friendly Homestay was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family thanks to the warm hospitality of Shardul, his mum Arita, and dad Basu. They were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. Booking with Shardul was a breeze. He was very responsive and helped us decide how many days to stay to get the best possible experience. He even assisted with booking our flights, which made the whole trip planning process much easier. The rooms were very comfortable, with cosy beds, warm linen, reliable air conditioning, and hot showers—everything we needed to relax after long days out exploring. The food was absolutely out of this world. Sarita and the girls in the kitchen prepared the most delicious meals. Every meal was different and amazing, and you could really feel the care that went into the cooking. Even the food on safari was incredibly tasty—honestly better than how I eat at home! One of the absolute highlights was camping in the National Park – a genuine once-in-a-lifetime experience and something I highly recommend to anyone visiting. We did four days of safari, and both Shiva (our driver/guide) and Shardul were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They knew all the best spots to maximise our chances of seeing wildlife. We were incredibly lucky with what we saw – including a mother tiger with three cubs and a mother rhino with her calf being stalked by a massive male tiger. Other animals we spotted included rhinoceroses, elephants, five different types of deer, otters, mongoose, and monkeys, just to name a few. This was an amazing experience from start to finish. I highly, highly recommend Bardi Eco-Friendly Homestay and will absolutely be back.

“Excellent stay”
Our stay at Bardia Eco-Friendly Homestay was absolutely fantastic. A 10/10 experience. The whole family is incredibly kind, warm, and attentive, and they really make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The food was delicious, with many ingredients coming fresh from their own garden, which made it extra special. The location is also perfect, very close to Bardia National Park. We joined a wildlife tour to spot tigers and were lucky enough to actually see one! I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Bardia. It’s a wonderful place with genuine hospitality.

“Amazing place that makes you feel at home”
I came to bardia after staying in chitwan for 11 days with no tiger sighting so I decided to try my luck here in Bardia I’m so happy I came because this place is Amazing And bardia eco Homestay made it even better First off Shardul and his family make you feel like it’s your home and part of their family, always making sure your good and the service is amazing The food is fresh and organic and the property is secluded like a little peaceful retreat Everyday they made me breakfast lunch and dinner with big portions and whatever I wanted or needed Also shardul is a guide and he knew how much I wanted to see the tiger so he did his best to show me the good spots we ended up seeing the tiger on 7 diffrent days which is wild he’s really passionate and knowledgeable about the wildlife here and it’s nice to see the community of guides here all with respect and love for the wild animals I didn’t plan on staying too long but I ended up staying for 17 nights as I really enjoyed my stay obviously Also the rooms are spacious and pretty brand new probably the best place I’ve stayed in Nepal and I’ve been travelling here for over 4.5 months Rooms have aircon and fan and very nice shower and bathroom I also got to witness a massive herd of Elephants and lots of wildlife which was magical The village itself is so beautiful and it’s a place that’s super special still untouched by mass tourism It feels very authentic I highly recommend staying here and I can’t wait to come back already

“Great stay, Great wildlife and Safari, Amazing staff”
We here for 6 nights specifically for the safari - we spent 4 days on safari and 1 day looking for the Ganges River Dolphins (which we did see) and were able to see a lot of wildlife during this time including 3 tigers on 3 separate days in December plus otters, wild boar, sambar deer, barasingha, spotted deer, barking deer, hog deer, mongoose, rhino, elephant, langurs, macaques, fruit bats, different birds including birds of prey which was due to a lot of hard work from our guide(Shardul)/driver(Shiva), some patience and little bit of luck - because spotting wildlife doesn’t come easily but it’s so rewarding when all the efforts pay off. It was all very worthwhile, the food at the Homestay is amazing Nepalese dishes and they made everything from the vegetable garden on site. They used filtered water refills which is good for the environment too. Shardul, his wife, family and staff are all lovely and the customer service was really good. Would recommend 10/10 and will also be visiting again! You can sit by a lovely fire pit in the colder months too, which was an added bonus.

“Beautiful home and wonderful safari”
We had such an amazing stay at Bardia Eco-Friendly Homestay! The rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious in a stunning setting surrounded by fields. The food was some of the best we had in our 5 week trip. Shardul and his family are so hospitable and friendly, and we had a really magical stay. Breakfasts around the campfire, shared meals and laughter with other guests, and a comfy night's sleep, and Shardul's wife (a nurse) was so kind and helped me with a medical issue... not to mention the safaris themselves! Shardul and his friend were such great guides - determined to find as much wildlife as possible for us. We were lucky enough to see wild elephants, rhinos and even a glimpse of the elusive tiger (in off season!) and riding in the small fast jeep through the jungle was a fun adventure in itself! We would love to come back again. Thanks, Chloe (Chole!) & Sam.

“Amazing homestay that feels like a 5 star hotel”
We absolutely loved our stay! Shardul and his wonderful family put so much love and attention into every detail, and it truly shows in the beautiful home they’ve created right next to Bardia National Park. From the moment we arrived, they helped us with everything we needed and made us feel completely at home. The food was incredible, authentic, fresh, and some of the best meals we had in Nepal. All the positive reviews you read are not exaggerated; if anything, they don’t do the place justice. We stayed for 3 nights, but we truly wish we had time to stay longer. The facilities were the best we experienced in Nepal: clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Even though we didn’t get to see tigers due to the season, the safari was absolutely worth it with many birds and other animals and an unforgettable experience. Special thanks to Shardul and the whole family! we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly, highly recommended!

The best possible accommodation. The owners are very friendly and make you feel like part of their family. The food is delicious. We have never eaten better anywhere. The owner Sardun is a great guide and did everything he could to see as many animals as possible in the national park. If I ever visit Bariya again, this will always be my first and only choice of place to stay. I hope to see you again!

“Lovely family-run homestay with clean attached rooms”
It’s an all in one experience. - Very nice rooms (best that I’ve had during one month in Nepal), clean, hot shower, AC (but I did not use it) - Delicious home made food: the ladies of the family run the kitchen. There is no menu but I’m sure no one needs that with the high quality dishes that are served. The lunch they pack for inside the park is also delicious! Most ingredients come from their own garden. Veg and non-veg options. - Owner is also safari guide. He and his driver/guide Shiva are the best spotters of Bardiya! They have so much passion, and really want to share the animal sightings with you. It’s also very convenient to have everything arranged in one place. - the owner will also do as much as he can to help you with your travels, like arranging flight tickets, bus or taxi, anything you may need. So don’t worry, you are in good hands.

“If you are looking for a magical, unforgettable experience, than come here .”
Bardiya Eco Friendly Homestay is a magical place! Starting with the warm family that welcomes you with open arms. Bashu and Sarita do everything to make you feel comfortable. The food from Sarita and anku❤️ is so incredibly delicious. You have to try the Chilli Fries and the MoMo's! (the noodles are delicious as well, everything else too :)) The accommodation could not be more beautifully located, a small idyll in the middle of an insane national park. From the terrace you can see enchanting sunrises and sunsets. In the garden growing all the vegetables and fruits (Even a lychee tree!) what is used for cooking. Shardul, the son of Sarita and Bashu is an amazing, helpful and friendly guy, with whom we had an unforgettable time. He drove with us from Kathmandu to Bardiya by localbus (an experience that you do not forget easily haha). He has taken care of us non-stop and made everything possible. Thank you very much for making us feel like home The family organized the walking safaris for us. Walking through the national park is an experience full of adrenaline and fun. We swam through rivers (where there were crocodiles), saw a tiger, a huge group of elephants, beautiful birds, rhinos chasing each other and much more. A big thanks goes to the best guide shardul and Shiva. If you go to the jungle, then with these two! This was not my last time at Bardiya Eco Friendly Homestay!

“Recommend to all who look for an immersive wildlife experience far from commercial hustle-bustle”
Clearly this was my best trip to the southern Nepal. Pristine nature, family treatment, comfortable lodging, delicious organic meals and privacy - all that in a "paradise" spot in the Eco Friendly Homestay in Bardiya. My longing to see wildlife was fulfilled; encounter with leopards, tigers and the largest herd of elephants was a sheer thrill. On top of that the night in the Tree House to complete the real jungle experience. Love the friendly guides and the attentive host of the Eco Friendly Homestay. You are doing faboulus work, THANK YOU !

“Beautiful homestay run by a wonderfully warm & welcoming family ❤️”
We only had 3 nights as our visas were running out, but made the most of it with 2 full day safaris organised by Shardul. Our second day was Shardul's last safari of the season ahead of monsoon, and we managed to spot both rhino & tiger, keeping Shardul's tiger success rate at 100% for all guests this season! It was obvious how much it meant to him as much as us that we saw one. Accommodation is fantastic and amazing value - simple room with a really comfy bed; good AC; beautiful garden with fruit trees. Food was great too. Shardul also helped us organise our buses both getting there and onwards, meaning we felt very looked after all the way through. Highly highly recommend!
