It is a lovely old house located on a beautiful square. We had a room with a view on it, while it was quite loud from the street noise (scooters and temple bells), it was amazing to sit by the window and watch the crowds.

Excellent stay, beautiful old traditional building, very well maintained with beautiful cortyard where we had our meals. The food was delicious and the staff very accommodating . Overall probably the best place we stayed in Nepal!

It's a great experience staying in this 700 year old property with all It's original features. The rooms are very quaint, low doorways, ceilings, step stairs add to the charm. Lovely cafe area downstairs with statues and wooden carvings. Located on one of the historic squares and walking distance to other parts of the old town. Nice breakfast and served good coffee. Lovely hot shower.

The hotel is full of character with beautiful wood carvings. The location is amazing, right in the square. The owner is also incredibly helpful and the food was great. Wonderful place to stay

The place was so beautiful, the old house was charming and every space was beautifully decorated creating a serene atmosphere. The room was really cozy with a warm blanket so it wasn’t too cold at night. The breakfast was really good. Staff was also freindly and helpful.

Amazing rooms, warm, great hot water (best hot water ever I’ve had in Nepal), amazing breakfasts, best coffee, and best staff - staff were so helpful. If I asked for laundry, it was done in one day and very cheap. If I asked for a car, it was there immediately and well priced. Staff were so kind and flexible.

Fabulous property, full of original and historic character. Perfect location, good food, helpful staff.

The ceiling and doors were too low for me. I’m 183cm tall and I bumbed my head several times.

It was a traditional house with so much history that had been done up beautifully for guests.the staff were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. We really would highly recommend the early morning tour with the superb guide Bikram organised through the peacock guest house
