Just 500 metres from Silversand Beach in Betty’s Bay, Sol Y Sombra is a self-catering studio with courtyard and barbecue facilities. “A place for deep rest”
If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place to recharge and rest ,Sol Y Sombra is your place. We booked for two nights but decided to stay an extra two.Plenty spaces to hang out both inside and in the court yard! The space had everything we needed and we appreciated the cleanliness ,the contained homely feeling ,craftmanship and attention to detail in the space...and the bath was superb! . Jan was very welcoming and helpful .He knows the area really well and gave us some good tips for beautiful places to visit. Highly recommend spending a few days here exploring the natural beauty and wildlife of the area. We spotted sea otters on the beach visited the the Penquins at dawn , a very memorable experience.

A bit bohemian apartment in the middle of residential area just a kilometre away from Stony Point penguins. Small kitchen and large bathroom. Comfortable stay except the bed was a bit squeaky.

“Delightful and characterful little house”
Quiet and convenient location in Betty’s Bay. Walking distance to beach, short drive to penguins. Lovely Harold Porter Gardens nearby. Well equipped kitchen and spacious bathroom. Charming courtyard. Very good value.

“Wonderful experience and memory!”
Annette and Jan are such lovely hosts, extremely helpful and nice. The property showed so much love to detail and it felt very homely. The place is so close to the beach that we could hear the waves while having a bbq in our little private garden. Bettys Bay seems to have a really nice community, ad everyone there was very friendly and helpful! We can only recommend Sol y Sombra😊

It was so nicely presented and so much effort has gone into it. It was quiet, clean and close to the beach. The owners were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we pass through Betty's Bay overnight, or even for a weekend getaway.

Sol y Sombra is a bungalow with an en suite bathroom attached. The house reflected it's seaside location with objects collected from the beach such as amazing shells. The room had a very comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. The nearest decent shop was a 16 minute drive away in Pringle Bay. It was very cosy and it was lovely to meet Jan. Thank you for hosting us. Betty's Bay is a unique place with a remarkable coastline.
