Enjoyed the morning run around the neighbourhood and the breakfast (a little overwhelmed by the size of omelet and the amount of meat in it, including biltong!)

The breakfast was delicious, we arrived late for breakfast but the lady who served us(with 5 star service) was friendly and assisted us in selecting the best breakfast. We were helped very well by a friendly guy who is a security at the place after 18:00 o'clock.

“Didn’t have a good experience with them and was unable cancel my booking. I feel scammed”

The owner Surette rudely told me they don’t work with bookings.com therefore my booking wasn’t valid and I wasn’t reserved a room for the 2 nights and they are fully booked! Apparently I was supposed to know they only work with bookings made directly with them and that the bookings.com confirmation means nothing. On the day of arrival I could not get hold of the owner, manager and even security was not there. I have been trying to cancel my booking so I can be refunded as I was told I cannot stay there and I must cancel the booking as it’s not their responsibility to cancel it.

“No Room at the Inn (on Christmas Eve)”

Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that the whole house had been booked out by a group and that our booking had been cancelled. The current guest phoned the owner (Surette?), who told my son in law that she had cancelled the booking with booking.com, she then said we could stay at "The Perfect Corner" - another establishment owned by her. The Perfect Corner was closed for the holiday period and there were only 2 security guards on duty there. We were given an option of 2 rooms and chose one. The room was clean and comfortable and we stayed for 2 nights. The security guards said they could not reach Surette by phone, so I didn't bother to try to reach her. The pool was very refreshing. There was another family there who appeared to have gone through a similar experience as us. I should imagine that under normal circumstances, this would be a very nice place to stay. Bethlehem has many electricity and water challenges, so it was good to have the generator and a constant water supply.
