“Relaxing at Chaya Villa”

I loved my stay at Chaya. Gnannath and Nirmula were the most welcoming hosts and very generous. I was always offered tea or refreshments when i was at home . The breakfasts are excellent and you can choose from Sri Lankan traditional to a Western breakfast.As i had just completed an ayurvedic retreat they offered me ayurvedic foods. I was travelling alone by this point as caught up in the war and complications with flights via Middle East so often had dinner at the guest hpuse too. Fantastic home cooking and good company. Highly recommended and very good value. There is a wide , cool balcony overlooking luscious gardens for breakfast, dinner and just hanging out. The villa is less than 5 minutes from the beach and here you can always swim without worrying about the strength of the waves or the rip as there is a coral reef calming this stretch of the sea. A little walk down there are surfing areas too. . Gnanath can give loads of guidance on where to go and where and how to travel on . He also offers a bargain taxi service.

“Wonderful homestead in a beautiful home in a great location”

Very friendly host, Mr Dnanath, had excellent command of English and was very keen to chat and tell us about the property, his family and the surrounding area. It’s a family run business with no staff. In addition to the large and comfortable bedroom, complete with en-suite, fridge, filtered water and air conditioning, we had the run of the house, which included a large indoor dining area and large balcony. It is in a quiet neighbourhood close to a lovely Moragalle Beach, just a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was good (excellent omelette, sausage, toast and jam and fruit). Beautifully kept gardens. Highly recommended

Guesthouse owner and his wife was extremely friendly and helpful. Guesthouse is well situated and close to everything we needed. We had a seafood buffet on our last night,prepared by the owner and his wife, and it was exceptional, fresh and very tasty, also very well priced compared to the restaurants in the area. Will definitely stay there again, beds comfortable and room clean, hot water in shower takes a while to warm up, but after that it's perfect! The highlight was meeting " Toby" the Labrador, who kills you with love!
