At the very heart of Berlin’s City West, close to the exclusive shopping boulevard Kurfürstendamm, the Waldorf Astoria Berlin offers a sophisticated atmosphere in modern Art Deco style. Guests can relax with one of the signature treatments at Germany’s first Waldorf Astoria Spa. The elegant rooms at the Waldorf Astoria feature large flat-screen TVs with an in-room entertainment system. They provide panoramic views of the city, and have floor-to-ceiling windows. The upper floors have Berlin's highest suites and some have their own private terrace. ROCA offers light seasonal and Mediterranean cuisine, featuring small plate dishes with a rustic, home-cooked feel. A large selection of the menu can also be enjoyed as takeaway. Drinks can be enjoyed in the Lang Bar. A range of beauty treatments and massages can be booked in the Waldorf Astoria Spa, which also features an indoor pool (fees apply). Berlin Central Station is a 8-minute drive from the hotel, and Berlin Brandenburg Airport can be reached by car in 50 minutes.

“Lovely hotel, staff issues evident”
The trip was ruined when I was informed while checking in that I had booked 2 rooms and that I had to pay for 2 rooms. I spent the entire trip chasing and arguing with both the hotel and Booking.com to finally get confirmation that I had only booked 1 room. The hotel tried to charged my credit card for the second room, this transaction was not authorised and it resulted in my credit card being declined. There were also service issues in the restaurant. I booked a half board rate. The 2nd night we were told there was no such rate meal for dinner available. This position was corrected after much discussion, it was embarrassing. If the hotel sells me a half board rate, then it should provide what I have paid for. If we had accepted what we were being told the 2nd night we would have left the restaurant and paid for food in an external venue. This is totally unacceptable from a 5 star hotel, you basically are selling rates that your staff are not aware of, resulting in the staff basically telling the guests that they are lying or stupid or mixed up. I really am tempted to flag all of these issues in an honest manner on social media.

Amazing hotel in a perfect location surrounded by bars and restaurants and one of the Xmas markets literally 5 minutes walk away and the hop on hop off bus starts literally around the corner from the hotel

I was extremely disappointed. I expected a certain style of behavior, but the lady at the reception probably thought she was the owner of the hotel. She refused to accommodate us only because my brother was 17 years old. Then I demanded at least accommodation for me and the lady said that she was not interested and that I would leave. I have visited dozens of top hotels in my life, but I have never seen such behavior anywhere. Finally, we went to stay at the Ritz Carlton Berlin and I can only recommend it, they accommodated us immediately and they have incredible service as always.
