Great location, close to the metro and places where you can buy breakfast

“Reasonable”

The room was ok, the cockroaches seemed to like it, especially the ones on the kitchen worktop. The manager was very sympathetic and explained that the whole building was old and infested, making it impossible to eradicate them. The building is on a busy main road and the traffic noise is horrendous, especially the constant emergency services and their klaxons are fifty per cent louder than the UK's, the earliest are at 5.40am.

“An accommodation bringing me nightmare only”

The homestay owner was very rude to me shouting at me several times with no any reasonable cause and he even threw my stuff (like soap) I put in the shared bathroom without my permission. He suddenly knocked on my door trying to enter my room without even giving me any prior notice through Booking.com or by texting me on the day after my check-in date. The room faces the main roads which are extremely noisy even around midnight.

The property was really well situated - easy access to public transportation and close to shops and historical sites. The owner was friendly. The neighborhood is really lively which I like. Room is big.

It was a great plae to stay,spacious and great location. The owner was helpful enough and it had a balcony.Rwallt good value foe money.

It was comfortable and the main street in Berlin was close by and stops for public transport were just a few minutes away. There are many cafes and stores around. However, what triggered us most was the cockroach/bug problem. The bedroom was fine. But we did encounter cockroaches in the kitchen and refused to go there, since we are both horribly afraid and squeamish. Other than that everything was nice and clean. Both the bathroom and the bedroom. I believe the owner scrubs out the bathroom every day, so that is clean too.

“Dirty apartment and terribly rude owner but great location”

The owner is the rudest host I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting in my travel history so far anywhere. He told us to meet him at 10 in the morning at the apartment and we showed up at exactly that time. But we were confused about where exactly to meet him and didn’t want him to be waiting too long for us, so we called to ask him. He didn’t pick up, but luckily one of the other residents of our shared apartment let us in. We had been waiting for him inside for a couple of minutes when he came in and instead of greeting us in any way, he started screaming at us about being pushy and putting too much stress on him. We were quite taken aback but before anything else could happen he asked to step outside the apartment and go somewhere and to come back at 11 so that he could clean the apartment. Keep in mind that we had spent ten hours on an overnight train and were exhausted. If he wanted us to come at 11, he could have mentioned that at the start, but he didn’t. The cruel joke is that when we did finally check in, we realised that the apartment looked as if most parts weren’t cleaned in months. All he did was change the sheets as far as we could tell. Over the next four days, we found a far from clean bathroom, bugs and cockroaches in the kitchen (we weren’t brave enough to cook or eat in the kitchen haha), and dust literally everywhere except for the floor we walked on. After we had complained on the first day though, he did sweep the floor in our room, so that’s something. Overall, I’d say that the apartment is located in a really accessible neighbourhood, but the state of the apartment would be the most powerful motivation you’d need to explore the city and not sleep all day in it. And about the owner, all I can say is that he should realise that even people who choose value-for-money facilities work hard for their money and don’t deserve to be treated as if they are not worthy of dignity.
