“A lovely, cosy short break in stylish accommodation just before Xmas”

Stylish accommodation carefully considered with the needs of the guests prioritised in terms of functionality and performance. Some nice creative touches in the guestrooms all done to a high specification. We were the only guests staying at Chambres Berguoises and met Philipine, out host, on a couple of occasions - she in fact lives next door. Parking outside the property is free and straightforward. The accommodation is equidistant between two charming restaurants which were perfect for our evening meals - booking in advance advisable. All in all a lovely cosy break in the run up to Xmas - highly recommended!

Everything here is superb. This is my favourite place to stay before returning to the UK via the Eurotunnel. The house is wonderful, Philippine is so helpful and friendly, it is why we keep coming back 🙂. The use of the shared kitchen is a real plus point, and the breakfasts are always good. Comfortable beds, and , considering it is in a town, it is pretty quiet most evenings for sleeping. The WiFi is always good too. Bergues is a nice town too, very pretty with enough there to keep you happy.

“Stylish comfort in the heart of historic Bergues”

The apartment is wonderful. Stylishly decorated with every comfort. Clean, chic and comfortable. Philippine, the host was extremely helpful and flexible - and spoke good English. Nothing was too much trouble and she only lives down the road so is there whenever you need her. Bergues is fascinating, is great to walk around, soak up the history, enjoy a glass of wine by the river and eat in one of its excellent restaurants - and the apartment is very central too.

The continental breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, with homemade jam, and lovely croissants and coffee. Only 25 mins from Calais, and the town has plenty to offer. There's a great restaurant overlooking the river only a 2min walk away.

“Amazing as Always”

We absolutely love staying here, this is our third time and it won't be the last. The attic apartment is so beautiful and so relaxing. The bed and pillows are comfortable and we always have a nice sleep. Philippine is an amazing host and has such a good eye for detail. Breakfast is always amazing and plentiful, It always starts our day well... perfect 😊. Berguoises is a pretty town, just make sure you book one of the restaurants several days in advance if you want to eat in one as they get fully booked quickly. There was a nice burger bar though which we managed to find food in, the food was very good. I would always highly recommend Les Chambres Berguoises to anyone 😊.

Everything, what's not to like. This is the second time we have stayed, and it won't be the last. Just forty minutes away from the Calais Eurotunnel in a really pretty village. The facilities are amazing, the shared kitchen is a big bonus. This time round we got to make use of the beautiful bath instead of the shower, always plenty of hot water. The beds are comfortable, even the pillows were nice, and I'm fussy with pillows. It is quiet at night, despite being in a village, there are some very nice looking restaurants close by that we unfortunately didn't get to try this time. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, and for a very nice breakfast too, we'll definitely be back, again 😊

The location was in a traditional French small town street. Parking was possible fairly close. The room was fantastic, beautifully decorated but with modern bath, walk in shower and a separate toilet. The other facilities and areas were also beautiful. Philippine the owner was also lovely, even when we arrived very late thanks to problems with the ferries, her English was excellent which was a relief as my French and Dutch is very basic. The kitchen/dining room area was lovely and there was a courtyard which we used one night to have supper. Dunkirk and all of the WW1/2 activities were a very short drive away and Berguoises itself was beautiful.

Such a friendly and engaging reception on arrival, felt very welcome and happy in this peaceful and comfortable space. We had room 4 up on the second floor and it was lovely, huge, cool and beautifully decorated with a bath and shower, three windows. We enjoyed our evening picnic meal at the table on the patio, coffee and tea available. Great location, nice bar/restaurant around the corner and a beautiful town to walk around. Definitely highly recommend.

“Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!! Comfortable, Quiet, and Stunning”

I was looking for somewhere near to Dunkirk and Calais for our last night of a month long trip around Europe by car. I found this one as we were driving, and it looked amazing in the photos. I booked the room and the communication from the owner was both friendly and responsive. On arriving at the accommodation we were greeted by our very friendly host in the street (where we parked) and she showed us in and took us to our room, WOW. The room was awesome, we had a free standing roll top bath and the hugest shower I think we've ever seen! It was a tough choice, we had a lovely bath, but almost had a shower as well just to try it, but sadly abstained 😂. The room is one of about five or six in a large house, ours was the attic (definitely worth choosing). The bed was comfortable the room was huge, and the décor very nicely done. On the ground floor was a shared kitchen where you could make some tea and coffee, or even cook something! There was a little outside seating area too. Breakfast the next morning was in the kitchen, and was nice with fresh bread and croissants from the local bakery amongst other bits. The town itself was pretty and had enough of everything so that you could get a meal somewhere, although we turned up on a day when most were shut, possibly as it was a little later. We did sit in a nice bar and enjoy a couple of glasses of wine though 😊. We were able to walk down to a nearby patisserie the next morning before breakfast to get some goodies for our onward journey. If you are wowed by the photos on the listing for Les chambres Berguoises, you will be even more wowed by the actual room!

“Perfect overnight stop in Bergues before catching the ferry to Dover”

Perfect attic room with excellent shower and big, separate bath tub, nice comfy bed. Thanks to helpful, friendly Philippine for everything, including a hearty DIY breakfast. And Bergues is such an attractive and interesting little French town, with its Vauban ramparts and awesome abbey ruins. Good choices for food as well, though opening times are rather random.
