Overview
HI Bergen Hostel Montana is situated up the hillside of Mount Ulriken, about 3.6 km from Bergen City Centre and easily accessed by public transportation. A grocery store and different hiking trails are located next to the hostel. Free parking is available for our guests. This Quality and Sustainability certified property welcomes backpackers, groups and families to the international community of travelers all year round. It offers guests a wide range of accommodation in the modern and recently renovated rooms. From private single, double, triple and quadruple rooms to shared dorms. A complete all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is included. Bed linen and towels can be rented for a fee. Alternatively, you can bring your own linen for free. Wi-Fi, laundry room and a well equipped guest kitchen will ensure a comfortable stay at HI Bergen Hostel Montana. Guests can relax in the TV lounge, or play football in the common room. International volunteers organize free activities for guests such as hikes, games, BBQ’s, sightseeing, music and a daily free Coffee and Cookies activity. Guests can also use the spacious outdoor areas with BBQ facilities and a view.

Easily the best hostel in Norway. Might even be the best in Snandinavia or Europe. Views, cleanliness n rooms were all superb. Staff were aleo helpful. Could do with a few activities....

Great location for hiking. Good communal areas including the kitchen. A substantial breakfast with a great view across the fjords. For Norway it's excellent value for money in Norway

Loved the location, the view and the facilities. The information available in the hostel also helped us explore Bergen. Being on the hill of Ulriken was also fantastic. Great hikes to be made from this location.

4min easy walk from bus stop, 2 min walk from local supermarket, 3min walk to start of park entry for Ulkrine mountain climb, amazing view from the hostel, generous breakfast, well equipped kitchen, friendly atmosphere.

It was a good hostel. The room I stayed in had separate beds, so the person in the top bunk wouldn't disturb the person in the bottom bunk. The room was small, but still good enough. There was a good view of the surrounding area from the hostel's backyard. There was free parking and a supermarket nearby. Breakfast was good, but you couldn't take anything with you. I don't usually eat breakfast and prefer to pack a sandwich instead. But that would have cost extra money here. They also organise events in the evenings and, during my stay, we were treated to free Norwegian-style waffles.

I really liked this hostel, especially for the views but also for the included breakfast buffet, the option to order takeaway food, everything is very clean and the staff are very friendly.
