“Simple, clean guest house with great hosts and good value”
The couple that run this guesthouse are great .. they welcomed us warmly and provided a super breakfast. Unfortunately their restaurant was being renovated when we stayed, but I believe that normally you can dine there too. The location is just south of the river (Gorica quarter - apparently the old Christian bit) but an easy walk over the nearby Gorica bridge into the heart of Berat.

This is a local family business, restaurant under the same name is right next to the accommodation. Food are exceptional, MUST TRY, they have daily speciality everyday, remember to ask for it, big feast breakfast was included in the room fee. Warm welcome host, the day we left, the owner's son dropped off his work in the rector and insisted to drive us to the bus station.
