Mutiara Beach Resort is situated in a quiet corner of Bintan, away from the more popular resort areas. My girlfriend and I visited over a weekend to celebrate her birthday, and it turned out to be such a lovely and memorable stay. Firstly, they made planning our trip exceptionally easy with their own taxi service, which was easily accessible from the ferry terminal itself. Upon reaching the resort, the check-in process was really quick, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the staff had decorated our room with balloons and birthday decorations. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately made the stay feel special. The resort provided just the right amount of comfort while still preserving the experience of living simply and going back to basics. It felt peaceful, slow, and refreshing, which was exactly what we were looking for. The beach was immaculately clean, with clear waters and a beautiful stretch of sand that made the whole place feel even more relaxing. The food was also exceptionally good. We especially enjoyed the fish and chips, coconut latte, and nasi goreng, which were all really satisfying. During dinner, the staff even presented us with a complimentary brownie cake while singing and wishing my girlfriend a happy birthday. It was a very sweet gesture and definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The staff throughout our stay were warm, friendly, and attentive. The bonfire at night was also a really cool experience, and we got to witness one of the clearest night skies we have seen in a long time from the beach. It made the whole evening feel very calm and special. Before we left, Marc, the host, greeted us on our way out and was very accommodating. He took the time to ask us about what we liked and disliked about our stay, which showed how much the team genuinely cares about their guests’ experience. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend at Mutiara Beach Resort and would most definitely come back for a longer stay soon.

Absolutely loved our stay here. They are very communicative and helpful. If you are looking for a no-frills, simple set up in a quiet location, away from the big tourist resorts, then you will love this place. We felt like we had really escaped. The incredible hospitality, the sea on our doorstep, and the fact you can WhatsApp to order drinks and food, any time of day, to be delivered to your bungalow or the beach is the cherry on the icing. We spent a lot of time lounging on hammocks, listening to the sound of the sea and wildlife and finished off with an amazing massage at their spa tucked into the mangroves just behind the resort.

Hey, let me introduce myself, I am John from Alabama, and have been visiting this amazing place in Bintan practically every year since 2014. There is not much going on at my US home during winter, so I have made Mutiara my base camp from January till March, to explore Bintan Island, the Riau Archipelago and Sumatra. The no frills accommodation concept suits me well, food is nice, service is excellent, and overall I find here good value for money. As an outdoor person, I love the natural environment and enjoy my long beach strolls twice daily. Without hesitation this wonderful paradise deserves a 10 !

Beautiful, authentic and full of nature. Mutiara is the perfect nature retreat. The team are incredibly helpful, the food is delicious and healthy and you feel rested and content when you leave. The spa is world class (a hidden gem in Bintan). I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Great location, we could feel the sea breeze. The wooden huts have no AC, but this is fine - combination of ventilation and fan does the job adequately. Staff is exceptionally friendly and forthcoming. We enjoyed our stay a lot, and will return again.

Loved the facilities, yoga classes, the spa, and the possibility to rent kajaks and SUPs. I spent 2 of the most relaxing days in my life there. A wonderful, peaceful, quiet place to get away from the bustle of Singapur. So many helpful and friendly people working there. I will definitely return.

So... This resort is AMAZING. But you need to be the type of person to want to go there for the experience. Everything about this resort is back to basics (traditional I like to call it). The rooms are pretty open, anything can fly or walk in an you are very much open to nature. We found it very unsettling coming from a city to the mangroves. Day 2, completely at home an so glad we done it. 2 nights was plenty but I could see myself staying for weeks! The food and service is as far from basic as you can get they cook meals very very fresh, all food is really nice, drinks are phenomenal, the staff are what really makes this place feel luxury whilst experiencing the island of Bintan. Id recommend this place 100 times over to anyone. Just get thru the first night, try to relaxed and enjoy everything. Lizards, monkeys, the lot.

This is a great place to chill out for a few days. The facilities are basic but totally adequate, and in tune with the general laid back vibe of the place. All of the staff seem genially pleased to interact with you. The beach area is pleasant and kept scrupulously clean. The beach itself angles off slowly and has a very fine coral sand bottom, so it is safe for children and poor swimmers. There is good variety in the food and drink available, and both are really good value.

It was so peaceful with attentive staff and a beautiful spa. I have been to Bintan many times. This place is where I will return from now on. Loved.it!
