Loved this hotel! Wish we were there for longer. I’ve decided I want my house to look like this apartment! Very well designed, they had everything you needed (including washing machine in the room - which we did need!) Gave us a complimentary ticket to an Onsen of our choice. Had a really cool cassette tape player in the room, with tapes to choose from prior to checking in. Easy check in/ check out. Friendly staff and yummy cafe underneath.

“Enjoyable stay”
The room is spacious and well equipped. Like the vibe of the hotel too. We bought fresh food nearby and cooked ourselves, had an enjoyable night. We arrived later than 6 p.m., hotel had given us clear instruction for checkin. Surprised to find that the staff was still there and helped us for checkin. Thanks so much.

“It’s not often you have the chance to stay somewhere architecturally designed that is affordable for regular travelers.”
When we booked this accommodation based on the description and the photos, we were looking forward to staying somewhere that had so much character, especially after staying at a few nondescript hotels in our travels. We were delighted to discover that the room looked even better in real life. We very much appreciated the thought and effort that has gone into creating a room that is not only very appealing to the eye, but also provides all of the requirements needed when traveling. Hajimari Beppu was our favourite accommodation on this trip. It is highly recommended, with many lovely details for you to discover. We would definitely stay here again.

“Amazing place to feel at home”
Great place to stay! Very nice surprise. Like at home, the room is actually an appartment with an art gallery style. Delicate attentions such as Spotify music playlist, cassette rental for free, books about Beppu, really good coffee ☕️ in the room. All the details were super appreciated. Also the reception is a nice area : books, sustainable and local shopping, art… The building is quite new and modern. There is a pottery shop from the owner which is amazing. Their restaurant was also really good ! Really loved this place.

It was a really nice apparment. 1 room in a modern style with everything you need. The location is good, with a 10 minutes walk to the train station. The people working here are really nice and helpfull.

HAJIMARI Beppu was great for a short or long time stay. They give you vouchers to an onsen every night so you can enjoy traditional onsens. The room was so well designed. I loved the cassette player and the option to choose and play tapes during your stay. You can have in room massages as well at extra costs. Loved the café as well. Very decent price for this stay.
