Very beautiful and elegant place. So many beautiful details in the furniture, and the architecture of the house, which was solid and inviting of relaxation.

We had a great time in Beppu and met some nice fellow travelers the same day we arrived at the Hostel, with whom we later went for some drinks at a nearby Izakaya. The room was also very nice, just the walls are a little thin so make sure to bring some earplugs. Thank you to the hosts, who were very kind.

The house looks amazing, inside and outside. The atmosphere really makes this place. The host is super friendly, very welcoming, tries to help as much as possible. The room was quite spacious according to Japanese standard it was nice to have space for luggage. We liked that it was a bit out of city center and close to a beautiful shrine, but center in walking distance.

Traditional house with tatami mat rooms and comfy futons. Welcoming and friendly hosts. Complimentary snack and drink- very refreshing after a long day travelling. Opposite Asami Onsen which is great and cheap! Recommend for a nice soak and hangout with the locals

It was clean, room was nice(almost because the window didn't close completely) and location is great if you want quiet area. Close to Lawson and 20 min walk from Beppu Park or Takegarawa Onsen.

Lovely old traditional Japanese house. The room was spacious and warm enough also in the winter. There was a nice smell of tatami mats. It's in a quiet area close to a small river. The owner is very friendly. It's cozy and clean. Also there was a hot shower. It's definitely a unique experience

“A very traditional, comfortable stay in Beppu with lovely owners”

One of my favourite stays during my 2-week trip around Kyushu. This is a 100-year-old traditional-style house that has been converted into a delightful guesthouse with plenty of character. The two ladies I met running the place were incredibly friendly and understanding of my limited Japanese language skills. The room had a really comfy bed that, despite the worries of the staff, was more than big enough for a 180cm guy to sleep. The bathroom was huge, the living room was really spacious, and it was overall a very traditional experience. The owners were kind enough to look after my bags during my day trip to Oita, and even offered to drive me to and from the station.

The host is kind and friendly. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the shared kitchen and bathroom are clean. Overall, it was very good.

I love this calm location near Asami shrine and Asami onsen just on the other side of the street. The house is a beautiful old style wooden house in a very good condition. I booked the biggest japanese style room (Ume), and it was beautiful! The next conbini (Lawson) is a five minute walk away. WiFi worked flawlessly. I enjoyed my stay here.

“Relaxing”

The location was perfect, situated a 15-minute walk way from Beppu Station. The room and facilities were exactly as expected, and the host was extremely kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again if I were to come back to Beppu. Perfect for a female solo traveller!

I am very grateful for the gentle hospitality in this very clean and quiet house. There is an onsen next door. I definitaly recommend this place.
