Boasting in-room hot spring baths and seasonal gourmet Japanese multi-course meals, Beppu Showaen provides chic Japanese-style individual house accommodation. Free Wi-Fi is offered in the public area, and parking in available for free. Fitted with tatami (woven-straw) flooring and traditional futon bedding, spacious houses feature a low table and seating cushions. A flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with tea bags are also provided. Each house comes with an in-room hot spring bath or an open-air bath. The rooms are also provided with local beer and natural water. Special amenities for men and women are provided. See 'Important Information' for details. While staying at the Showaen, guests can request massages or purchase souvenirs from the on-site gift shop. Guests can reserve a spacious hot spring bath for private use at time of check-in, and complimentary green tea is served in the lobby. The property is an 8-minute drive from JR Beppu Station, and free shuttles are available from the station when requested at least 1 day in advance. Rakutenchi amusement park is a 3-minute walk and a 5-minute lift ride away. Fresh seafood and local ingredients are featured in Japanese multi-course meals, which are served in the guestroom with a Nakai (personal attendant) service. Special meal requests can be accommodated.

Exceptional, spacious rooms, private onsen. Very nice area of the hotel beautifully set into the nature - we even encountered some monkeys on the porch.

“Amazing stay in Beppu”
A truly beautiful and memorable ryokan experience in Beppu. The property is surrounded by greenery and has a peaceful, elegant atmosphere. Everything felt special: the room was beautiful, the private onsen was absolutely wonderful, and the onsen facilities available for guests were also excellent. The whole place is truly charming, relaxing, and simply amazing. The food was also very pleasant and enjoyable, prepared with care and served in a way that made the experience even more special. We also really appreciated the kindness and availability of the staff, who were always willing to help and find solutions whenever needed. A splendid stay, highly recommended.

The Ryokan is very beautiful and on top of the hill so you have a beautiful city view in the dark. The room was very beautiful and had an outdoor bath with a small garden. You can also book a private onsen or enjoy a public one if wanted. The food was great and the stuff was very friendly and accommodating.

I love everything - food, location, in room hot spring, private outdoor hot spring, the little garden, good location(free shuttle). The futon was very comfortable. The room is very nice and spacious. The toiletries provided are very nice.

The hot springs are absolutely fantastic and the grounds are beautiful. But this is not your ordinary 5 star property, it’s a local immersive experience. From the accommodation and menus, it’s one to remember.

Excellent service all around. The free shuttle service to the train station was appreciated a lot. I also greatly enjoyed the fugu-based kaiseki.
