“Lovely homestay by the river”

This was the first place we stayed during our trip to Sri Lanka and it was so nice. Busy street in the front yard and quiet beautiful river view in the back yard. Theres two rooms on the second floor with a shared kitchen and a balcony. Their son arranged a river safari for us and it was great. Breakfast was really good. There's four options that you can choose from and I recommend to try all of them if you can. The owner was so lovely and friendly. We felt so welcome.

“Excellent homestay in Bentota”

Villa Roy was one of the nicest guesthouse/homestays we have stayed in. The room was clean and comfortable, with good storage, and large, modern bathroom. Outside the room was a kitchen/living area shared with the other guest room. Having a fridge, kettle, cups, plates, cutlery, etc, and a pleasant seating area, was really appreciated. Breakfast (and other meals) can be served here, but a much better option is outside by the river. Breakfast was delicious, with four different options, both Sri Lankan and western. We had one dinner too, was was very tasty too (and reasonably priced). It really is a lovely setting to enjoy food or just to chill out. The location was nice and quiet, but only an easy walk/short tuk tuk ride from beaches, restaurants and shops Overall, what made Villa Roy so special for us was the lovely host family. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming, comfortable, value for money homestay.

Very friendly family and clean rooms. The garden was very peaceful with a beautiful view over the river and a delicious breakfast!

This is a little treasure. Set back from the sea a little and next to railway line( but perhaps only 2 trains during the night and muffled). You have the upstairs rooms. Outside there is a garden overlooking lagoon. Breakfast and dinner served on a sheltered patio.v peaceful Food was home made and excellent Host Geeta, charming and interesting and interested. Such a lovely place in Bentota! The owners are wonderful people — very warm, friendly, and always happy to help. They made us feel truly welcome from the first moment. The room is clean, cozy, and comfortable, and the location is perfect. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious with a great variety of choices. Amazing little home stay, the hosts made us feel very comfortable and welcoming, cooked an incredible breakfast right by the river, the husband of the couple spent his time to take us to a massive temple and give us a little tour of it which was amazing!

The host is very friendly and welcoming. The room was exceptionally clean, and the breakfast near the river was a lovely experience. The food was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended!.

This was our first stay in Sri Lanka and the hosts were so welcoming. The best people ever! She made us such a yummy lunch spread on such short notice. Beautiful backwaters just behind the house. Great place, very neat and well maintained. The host even let us use her kitchen and helped us make meals for my baby nephew. Definitely a great start to our vacation. 100% recommend!

“Highly recommended budget hotel in Bentota”

The host family are the nicest most helpful people you will ever meet. They will help you with anything they can including tuk tuks, tours, train apps etc. Breakfast is a feast everyday. The rooms and property generally are spotlessly clean. The bed is v comfortable and big. Great shower and bathroom area. Good a/c and wifi. Easy walk to the beach, restaurants, bank, supermarket and train station. We definitely recommend.
